I don't know about a better pilot or the house, but definitely not a better job! HMR, we all strive for that 2 flights a month job - if you can call it a job! It must be tough!!!

Waaahhhh!

I don't know who any of you are. Well, except for skiav8tor and HMR.

Introductions?

Now, that would take away the mystery!

It is a good place to work, with plenty of opportunity to upgrade for the right person. I'm probably guilty of drinking the coolaid, but I think it is a good place to work.

I will agree with sheepman, it is a good place to work. However, don't plan on getting another corporate job in SoCal if you ever leave AvJet. I personally know several pilots who left on good terms, only to find out later that AvJet management had made false accusations about them to many other charter operators in the area. Needless to say, they are having a hard time finding work.

It's bad enough that AvJet still owes over $1000.00 in expenses to those pilots!

Besides Westwind pilots, I hear they are also looking for Hawker and Gulfstream pilots too. They recently had 5 G-IV pilots resign, leaving high paid positions...140-150K. If this doesn't tell you about the operations at AvJet, well......you deserve what you get.

Best of luck to all....

Get your facts straight, dude. The guys who left weren't all leaving 140-150k jobs. Most left for much better part 91 jobs - who could blame them. Yes, AvJet is looking for Gulfstream, Hawker and Westwind guys, mostly due to growth.

As far as your buddies go, and owed expenses, I don't know what to tell you, but I've never heard of that at AvJet, or heard of AvJet talking bad about guys who've left. I don't who you're talking about, and I don't want to make assumptions, but I've learned in this business, usually it's not the operator, but rather the pilot. Every now and then, we all have to look into the mirror.

You are right, I need to get my facts straight. Their pay was actually 155K per year....or at least that's what AvJet is providing to other operators through PIRA.

...but I've learned in this business, usually it's not the operator, but rather the pilot. Every now and then, we all have to look into the mirror.

How true....and I would believe that is the case at AvJet if it were only one pilot. Multiple pilots have left recently.....and not for other jobs.....just to get out of a big mess!

I am sure those guys will be replaced quickly. Heard today that Pacific Jet let 10 pilots out on the street. I guess it has something to do with their Gulfstream fleet being parked due to non-compliance with TAWS.

My source at Toyota told me that two AvJet guys were part of the group of 4 just hired into the GIV. That explains where two of recently departed AvJet pilots went.

Are you serious about Pacific Jet? I've been getting alot of calls from their pilots lately...that would explain it.

Regarding PJ....heard that TP charged the owners for TAWS a year ago and spent it, but not on TAWS. The aircraft owners are being told that TAWS is installed but an "emergency service letter" was issued for those particular aircraft rendering them unairworthy for at least several weeks while the "service letter" is complied with.

Whatever it is worth, there is no "emergency service letter" for any TAWS/EGPWS system.
