Mark Foulkrod is a good guy. AVJET is a Part 135 operation which will always be tougher than a Part 91 operation. They work under pressure you normally don't see in Part 91 operations. Read the accident report for Bob Frisbee's G-III accident at Aspen to gain an understanding of those pressures.

Starting pay for experienced G-IV Captains is 140K.

Westwind

I fly the Westwind at Avjet. So far I like the program. It's oncall charter, but not as bad as other places. I have a buddy flying out of VNY who is on a 45 minute tether...that would suck. Ours is a little friendlier..Chocks

GVFlyer, did you know him? Sure was sorry to hear about that. I didn't know any of the folks involved, but sure knew the pressure they were probably feeling. Hopefully this will be one of those incidents we can all learn from.

Yes, I sure did. He was a competent airman who succumbed to the pressures of a guy in back who was dying to get to Aspen.

Thanks for the info....as for starting pay, a guy I know who talked to the chief pilot claims they told him around 70k.

Any contact info in BUR would be appreciated....I'm considering just walking in the door with my resume to see what kind of response I get.

charterpuke, the NTSB just published a full accident brief today if you're interested. It's at http://www.ntsb.gov/Publictn/2002/AAB0203.htm

Really creepy when you read stuff you've of course been guilty of before and survived, not even thought twice about, that has had tragic consequences for someone else.
