Before I came to NJA, I thought,

Today, I took a nap! Not bad for getting paid to "fly."

We don't fly that much, most of our work is the other stuff. If you are looking for a place to build flight time, don't come here. If you are looking for a stable place where you know your schedule for YEARS and have decent benefits, come on in! The water's warm!

I dont know what the hell kind of plane you fly at NJA but our fleet doesnt generally "sit around"..... or most of the other fleets, unless broke, and even then, the company will airline you to another plane.

i hear the X sits around a ton.

Not sure what kind of "sitting around" you're referring to. I'm in the X as well, and if I see an FBO for longer than 90 minutes it's only because I'm doing extra paperwork or some such thing.

Yeah, occasionally I'll have a day here and there where I spend some extra time in the FBO, but it's rare. I can count on one hand the number of times in the past year where I've actually sat around an FBO long enough to take a nap.

I'm averaging around 600 flight hours per year, and remember, I fly for less than 6 months out of the year (7/7 schedule plus vacations plus training).

Can't speak for the other fleets though. Maybe more sitting there.

And the honeymoon is over in the 400 too. Averaging 4-5 legs every time, then sit standby till we reach 12 hrs after that. Can't wait for the winter break/break.
Other than that, a good job.

I'm not saying the X isn't busy, but I've spent plenty of time in FBO crew lounges with X crews. The point is, we still do a fair amount of sitting, regardless of fleet, though some sit more than others.

I knew Hawkers were slow but getting passed by a sail plane is pathetic.

All kidding aside, nice job guys.
