Just wondering what ballpark average age is for a new hire at a regional. I know you always have a few ex military coming out who are in their 30's and some wonderkid who gets hired at 21 or less.

Youngest in my class was 23, oldest was late 30's, I was right about in the middle (out of 20) at 31.

I'd say mid twenties, but the spread is so large it is probably not very meaningful..tons of different backgrounds

I was 23 when hired. I'd say average is mid to late 20s.

30 when I was hired and 30 when I was furloughed, lets make this thread about the average age of a pilot who gets furloughed.
Don't worry, you can always make up the slack working at a 135 carrier after you are forced to retire at age 60 from the regionals.

I'm am 20 and was hired a few months ago. I'm hoping to be at least 21 before I'm furloughed so that I can at least have a few drinks.

Our last class averaged 39 years old, range 29-46, average flight time 6000 hours

class has 16 people. Age ranges 34-22. Three main groups.... 32-34 (5+/-)
26-28 (6+/-)
22-24 (5+/-)

Mainly the people that graduated in 2000, 2001, 2002 are the few years older folks....

Hired the first time at 25, Hired again at 28, furloughed at 29. Our class was early 20's - early 40's I think.

My class: 5 @ 23-27 and me...41! Oh, by the way, I quit after 25 weeks. I decided I could find another job that pays better than 6 bucks an hour and sleep in my own bed every night. As far as flying goes, I have more fun flying my Cherokee than a CRJ.
