How is it that they expect for you to pay 18,000K for a peace of s***t airplane that can be flown single pilot, doesnt require a type rating, and for a company that tries to push pilots to do unsafe things?! I know a couple of people that have left, and didn't hear a thing for about a year. Talked to them a few days ago and they all told me that they got a letter saying "Pay us back in 30 days with 12% interest or we will take legal action." What a crock of sh***.
for 20K you can get 2 737 Type ratings!! I say boy, dont pay this MFkrs anything, get together and dont let this ass****les intimidate you.

Look at it this way.... they want you to pay them back b/c if you pay them back 18K, you're basically paying the next idiot's Initial. So as you can see, they are trying to avoid costs at all cost.
It is also obvious that they are trying to collect their contract now b/c they are still bleeding money away. How can they expect people to actually stay around flying BS equipment, FOs not allowed to fly, and Bills not getting payed.
Last I heard Landmark aviation was not providing anymore charter service for Avantair b/c they hadn't paid their Bill which reached the 100s of thousands.

I also heard about the Landmark thing from a former Landmark pilot. But yeah i think that contract is total BS, and they have been harrassing people lately trying to get the money and threatning to take legal action. I dont know how that contract would hold up in court really, especially if you live in a RIGHT TO WORK STATE. Last I check FL was one of those states. Sorry Avant, looks like you're not going to be getting any money any time soon.

But they are still bleeding money.

Last quarter (Jul 1 through Sep 30) on total revs of 25.7 million a net loss of 4.8 million.

They are doing a LOT better than they were a year ago. 50 fractionalized airplanes SHOULD be the cash flow positive point. I believe there are around 5 cores in the fleet at this time.

This might make for interesting reading. This a decision about a training contract case involving a Great Lakes pilot a few years ago. It may not be germane to the contract at Avantair but some of the legal opinions and decisions might be something to consider.
