You guys that go back and forth about which regionals are better are truly pathetic. They ALL suck. It's like smelling sh!t from different animals and trying to decide which smells the best. They ALL stink.

Do yourselves a favor and spend more time on thinking how to move up out of a regional instead of bickering about how yours is the best.

So when Expressjet starts flying for Delta, or Northwest, or UsAir, or who ever, whose cancer is it going to be then?

Surely, not yours!!!

This whole industry is full of whores--some just wear nicer uniforms than others.

...and don't call me surely...

Shirly, ;)

If this happens, it will only be because we were driven out of our home by a bottom-feeding squatter. In a perfect world, we could just have kept feeding for CAL and nobody else. Obviously this is not a perfect world though. I would have much rather just kept things the way they were. Yes, I am blaming the bottom feeders. I will continue to do so.

We might end up doing flying for someone else, we might not. Who knows. What I DO know, is that we are not going to take a pay cut to get any of the flying.

IMHO, what makes pilot groups whores, is having a by having a marginal or outright substandard contract, and their company then using that contract as a means to undercut the people that were doing the flying.

If someone like Eagle, Comair, Air Whiskey, or TSA gets the flying... I won't call them a whore. Even TSA, yes... At least they did everything that they could against their pissant management to get a good contract. They did not just roll over and take it up the rear like Mesa and Chiniqua. YES, there ARE company's out there that can take those 69 planes worth of block hours and I will not think they are whores.

AviatorTx,

You're bagging on CHQ why? Payrates? They rolled over and took it when? They are comperable to your rates on same type aircraft. A dollar on the 145 and $2 on the 135 capt's and 3 dollars on the FO's. I'm not talking about the 70's cause they don't effect you. That's not undercutting by any means and they signed theirs before yours. Could you enlighten me on this cause from my info it doesn't make sense.

Are you gonna say the same thing about ASA pilots if we get the flying for CAL? Cause our 50 seat rates will be right there with you guys in our new contract.

To my best recollection, Coex Contract 1997 was $1.10/hr per diem (nothing for day trips), 24 hour reserve availability, veeery liberal scheduling/duty time limits (FAR in most cases) and Senior jet captains were making about $30,000 per year. Then the new jets started taking routes that CAL used to fly -some before, but mostly after the CAL pilots signed contract 1998.

So you're saying that I am a "whore" for working under this contract, but you are not - even though you left a better paying job and came to work at the same company just 11 months after contract 1998 was signed, knowing what the pay used to be and knowing that the jets were replacing CAL flights (as well as adding new service)?

I am curious to know where you draw the line between "whore" and "non-whore" in this industry and also how do you define redemption? I volunteered (albeit, not much) for a year and a half of the contract 2004 effort so am I not a "whore" now? Can I be a "whore", then a "non-whore" and then be a "whore" again just because of who I work for?

With that said again... are your XJT brethren who are moving on to CAL "whores"? I would guess (it's only a guess as I am a financial failure)that CAL's new contract is allowing them to undercut other airlines' flying all over the world.. or is that different? I am confused.

I am indifferent on the whole subject of who to call a "whore" so I mostly just say hi to people in the uniform as I walk by instead of sitting around and wondering if they are a "whore" or not.

I guess maybe that you should be careful who you label a "whore", especially 1. if you're not going to define the lines clearly of what the term really means and 2. represent the IAH F/O's as their elected ALPA rep.

It's not all black and white. Sorry for the rant. I'm still confused, but smiling politely...

Sincerely,

B. Franklin

I have heard on one occaision a CHQ crew being blocked on OPS frequency. This was last month and I have not heard it lately so hopefully it was just an isolated incident.

I can understand that ASA pilots may not be happy to see CHQ planes in ATL, but we all live in glass houses, and if the rumors come true, we may be flying ERJs in IAH, CLE and EWR someday. Remember the karma rule.

I don't believe it.

The reason this industry is full of whores is because there's always someone outh there who's gonna say "YES".
Management know this, and because of this they will be able to get the prices they want.

So you're ragging on one regional but not the other?! So Mesa is a whore outfit, Expressjet isn't--Horse Bukaki!
All regionals are whore outfits.

The day you (all) stand up TOGETHER and tell management enough is enough, maybe that will change.
Until then, there is no difference between any of the regionals.

And instead of bad mouthing each other you should stand together.

And that's why I will never go back to the regionals.

PS: Maybe the Delta pilots are finally saying enough is enough. Looks like their laying it all on the line.
Best of luck-I hope it works out, and sets a new standard for this ef'd up industry.

Are you kidding me, that was a very ignorant post. Our pay scale and contract is just as good as most regionals w/ the exception of a few.

This makes your contract and pay a POS DEAL... Thanks for making everyone's life a little worse.

ATTN: All CHQ pilot.

If your contract is so great why do you all crashpad/sleep/live in the LGA crewroom? Your pay rate are so great that you can't afford a craspad?

When I show up in the crewroom and I see you sleeping on those nasty sofas in there, you really look like a bunch of rats...
...However I do enjoy slamming the doors and turning the lights on at 5AM.

And why are you picking on the DCI guy's for bloking you? A lot of people do it...

Everybody look, it's an old pissed off man. Gramps, it's not our fault you have 10,000 hours of Citation/Dash time, I'd be pissed too. But if you could, turn the lights off please, I'm sleeping there cause I have to make the payments on my school loans, cause I didn't PFT. I chose it, I like it, but I dont really enjoy a$$holes like you.

Okay, it's not all black and white Michael Jackson. However, there are shades of gray and some are much uglier then others. Of course, Mesa tops the list. Got a wonder with S**taco how come they can fly for every carrier and remain cost effective. How does that all work? Perhaps it's the 170 and 190 rates which are a definite slide in the wrong direction. Most importantly, I don't have a beef with guys at other airlines like S**taco who don't feel happy about taking flying away from other carriers and do what they can to walk the line and progressively seek better work conditions. Kind of like I don't have a beef with Muslims who didn't go into turbo-turbine party mode when the towers fell and who are doing what they can to change their f'd up culture. It's the gleeful aviation dreamers without a sense of reality in having a good personal financial life or any other outside of aviation life for that matter, that drag down the industry by happily accepting lower wages and benefits so they can move up ASAP to a supposed secure major airline position. Pathetic and not well thought out. Forget the Kool Aid, baby formula is being served at the flight schools/aviation colleges these days.

Comparing these days to the late 90s is apples to oranges. Back then, nobody thought the Replacement Jets would have this much of an impact and regionals were truly stepping stones to larger airplanes and major routes. Also growth was going on simutanously at the majors level. Compare that after Sep 11 as we know the majors are shrinking which should be a huge wakeup call to anyone still believing "regionals" are just stepping stones as they are not just adding, but completely replacing in a very large manner major airline flying. And the situation gets worse and worse.

ALPA dropped the ball big time by greedily trying to milk every last dollar for pensions and super wages at the majors in the good ole days while not devoting some of that negotiating money to single seniority lists or flow through agreements and/or very restrictive scope clauses. Specifically with XJT, nobody that I know of here wants 70 or 90 seat aircraft to be flown anywhere neat S***taco rates and especially not to replace CAL flying. I feel fortunate to here because the pilot representation is intelligent and the contract allows for a reasonable life while not undercutting anyone else. Much better feeling then to fly some 90 seat aircraft with instead of 1 undatable semi-attractive, drama, flimsy, airheaded Flight Attendant, 2.

Who you see in the LGA crewroom is not CHQ pilots. F/A's yes maybe. But then you need to get on FlightAttendantINFO.com and complain there or maybe CHQlounge.com seems to be alot of F/A's over there.

I have a crashpad in LGA and although not there very much I still pay for it.

Anyways, I have also seen WO "rats" as you call them sleeping on the couch. How do I know? Because they have the fancy WO id badges....Oooh.

Another moronoc post.

Unfortunately, Comair had to match the competition (read that as you, among some others ).

If you're going to call a post ahem.... moronic. Have the decency Man to spell at least the second word right.

Poor Donny, not even here still getting it....Anybody know if he's still there (Comair).

So you had to match the competition? Well we all know how Delta Pilots feel about that...

It'll be flying for Spirit. So it won't be called "whoring". You heard it here first.

JMHO...no facts to back that up.

Solve all the problems...be a true "Commuter" pilot and fly props we do not "steal" any "majors" routes.. As one guy said in this post...regionals might be careers nowadays. Fly a prop...go to a "Major" or "LCC" after doing that for a couple of years....you do not need SJS time to do that these days......no I am not an un-happy prop pilot. I like this "stepping stone" because that is all it should be!

I have a solution for CHQ. Go back to the negotiating table, take a even less pay to fly the 170's, and convince mgmt to put in an ACARS system with the saved money. Also, now that you guys wont be able to lie about times, they will even be able to save more money, so they can cut-throat another airline. But at least you wont have to get cut off on the radio. Get used to taking a beating by the people that your company is cut-throating.

The E170 do have ACARS.

lol, i remember some w.o. dork used to bring his cot in the lga crew room at night, when i used to have a late night sit there.

Man, some fraternity. You guys should all be ashamed of yourselves. Pissing contest over someone venting a little frustration....give me a break.

And to the guy slamming doors and turning lights on @5am in crew lounges...say a small prayer tonight that i'm not ever in one of those lounges when you pull that stunt.

Love,

Lets see and in the next week or so Comair and MESA will be under the same ownership. SO take it B*****s. We all know what is going on. Also for Xjet, ASA will soon be flying those ERJ's that are going to be pulled. So you are not immune from the world in which you live.
