The last 2 times I have flown out of ATL my out times radio transmissions have been continuously blocked. I confirmed this with the op's person in ATL because they said each time I tried to transmit my out times, somebody else was purposefully pressing their mike button. Whoever is doing this needs to grow up,.. and don't me that b.s. that we are taking your flying in ATL, if you have a problem with that you need to call mgmt. @ delta. For those of you that continue this childish act, you not only make your self look bad, but also make the others at your airline, whom I have to come to know as upstanding and professional pilots, look bad.

Perhaps you w-hores just need your own frequency, then this would not happen. Better yet, why not get a decent contract so it is not so cost effective for you to invade everyone else's turf.

Who's next? What other regional's livelihood is your cancer going to infect next.

Are you kidding me, that was a very ignorant post. Our pay scale and contract is just as good as most regionals w/ the exception of a few.

Interesting comment. How did you confirm this with the ops person? Was it in person? If it was over the radio, you must not have been blocked. Perhaps it was someone "purposefully pressing their mike button." Perhaps it was someone else also trying to transmit times/call for something/etc... This may shock you, but there are a lot of people on that freq. Perhaps if this happens in the future you might check the inbound freq and try on that one, and if that doesn't work you've always got ATL radio. I do wish you the best of luck. There is no doubt ATL can be a bit frustrating, just be glad you don't have to deal with it everyday.

YEah well......THAT post made you sound like a huge tool bro........

There's no such thing as a "regional" anymore. Now that you kids managed to get 70 and 90 seat airliners on the property you have an obligation to try and make a profession out of this rediculous mess.

I was going to point out the exact same thing!! Maybe it's you...UCF.....that needs to grow up and realize that not everyone is out to get you. You obviously are self concious about the company you are working for. Good luck in ATL (the busy airport in the US)
Cheers

Why does everyone insist on spelling "ridiculous" with an "e"?

Point taken, however the last time it happened, the individual operating the outbound op's frequency said " CHQ I think someone is blocking your transmissions,... you guys need to cut it out"

Hahha...you are so pathetic. Your contract was signed AFTER ours and you barely out did it. And by the way, you weren't faced with a looming alter-ego carrier during your negotiations!!! I'd say for the time and situation you were in at contract time, yours is Below Average.
Enjoy that ready reserve Tex.

Our contract seems pretty decent to me, for this day and age, and the competition we have. And we have a good start for future improvements.
I don't see a Go-Jets type situation making our lives miserable.
I've held a line since day 1.
Average of 16 days off per month. I've seen 18 a few times.
Great crews, I've never NOT looked forward to working with anyone. Well ok once, but thats it.
No junior Manning.
No Hot reserve.

Knock wood.

This is a one time thing for me, after It happened 2 times in row I got angry, I am not one to feel that everyone is out to get me, this is just a one time event that just pissed me off........... Furthermore as I said earlier, I know ATL is very busy, however the individual working outbound ops specifically stated it "sounded like someone was blocking your transmissions and you guys need to grow up"

Happens ALL the time, EVERYDAY. I wouldn't sweat it too bad though. ASA is getting ACARS anyday now!
Another catchy phrase the ops people will say is "you guys are walking all over eachother....you guys need to cut it out."
Here's another exciting one for ya': ASA put out a memo saying we no longer need to call ops in ATL on the ground after landing. Not even a week later they were specifically telling us on the in-range call "please call us when you're on the ground." Moral of the story....it's ATL, you've just got to learn to roll with it or your blood pressure will skyrocket. My advice, go for overblock if you have to go through ATL at all on your trip. Even better advice, only bid trips that don't go through ATL.

Thats true.

I have a solution for CHQ. Go back to the negotiating table, take a even less pay to fly the 170's, and convince mgmt to put in an ACARS system with the saved money. Also, now that you guys wont be able to lie about times, they will even be able to save more money, so they can cut-throat another airline. But at least you wont have to get cut off on the radio. Get used to taking a beating by the people that your company is cut-throating.

You seem to have me confused for someone else. XJT pilot's do NOT want larger planes to operate for CAL. This would just slow our rate of hire to worse than it already is over there. Most of us agree that the growth needs to be at the major that we fly for, so there will be hiring.

Regardless, if we DID get larger planes, we darn sure would not fly them for 50 seat pay like the w-hores out there. Probably the main reason we will never get bigger planes to operate as "feed" is that everyone knows that we will expect to be well PAID to fly them. What a concept.

UCF,

I hear that comment from our ops people on a daily basis and long before CHQ started flying in ATL. You're basing this off of one incident? Get a grip, realize you are not the only one using the freq., we are not out to get you and that ops really hasn't a clue if someone is stepping on you on purpose.

However, I could be wrong in this instance and someone was F*cking with you. But, you aren't the first and won't be the last in this industry that this happens to.

If you are flying 70-90 seat jets for 50 seat PAY, imho that makes you a w-hore, and your contract a POS. Just my two cents.

Edited to add... I missed this... My favorite part:

Wonder why we barely out did it??? (I think we did a lot more than barely, but)

The NMB looked at your w-hore contract, along with Mesa's and said that we had you beat. That was good enough. While not by much, according to the Almighty NMB, our offering by Management put us at the top of the pile, or at least tied with Comair. The reasoning of the NMB was that this was good enough. We could ask for more, but the NMB made it perfectly clear that we would never be released for what we we asked for. The reason that WE did not outright kick Comair's butt with our last contract, is because you pukes did not even come close to it. It's all about raising the bar for the next guy. Even if you are a different union, you can still benefit from pattern bargaining.

Lets call a spade a spade. Comair, Air Whiskey, and XJT are the only "regionals" out there that have done anything worth a crap in the last four years to get the pay and benefits out of the basement. Lets hope we can stop the slide backwards to YOUR type of contracts now.

Damn, there goes your on time performance. The ACARS will spoil you with not calling times, not worrying about AIRINC frqs, and getting ATIS without having to listen to those 25 minute long reports like ORD. But it's hard to cheat for on time unless you start reprogramming your time.

Hey ****************************** bag, weren't you spouting off CMR+ or your striking for you new rates? We see how well that went. Get a fuking clue you steal just as much mainline flying as any other regional out there.

General,

I've got to back up AviatorTX on that one. We (as a group) do not want larger aircraft. The vast majority of XJT pilots want to use this place as a stepping stone, not a parking garage.

The "ACARS anyday now" was a joke. They've been promising that at ASA even longer than we've been in contract "negotiations." As for on time, you do realize we're talking about ASA, right? My own personal theory on why we don't call out/off times in ATL anymore is because anyone who knows the ops freq could listen in, then go check what the company actually posted and call them on their BS. If we don't call it over the radio, the "departure coordinators" (another laughable term) can make up any "data" they want with little to no oversight.

So you don't want them, or are you saying you'd get more to fly them. How much would you ask for 20 more seats?

Yeah, I got that wrong. I thought you flew for someone else, then I saw your avatar. Sorry. I am glad you would fly them for more pay, which you should do.

Quit yer bitchin

Thank god for ACARS...When we (S5) start going in there in June, we won't have to deal with this childish crap, we will just ACARS the times. Block that if you think I'm stealing your flying.
