So what? Quite a few airlines have been aided by the ATSB. What is your point? The US Government throws away cash we don't even have and foreigners buy our debt. Truckloads of money pumped to the middle east for oil and war. More money to Tsunami hit countries while our industry is collapsing. Wouldn't you think it's decent for a change that the goverment aids our own with our money? Quite a bit of this mess is caused by granted, bad management but also being a slave to OPEC. I have no problem seeing my tax dollars helping my airline and others. To me it's money well spent.

"So what?" You're kidding, right? I'm very much in favor of our government aiding "our own", as well as those hard hit oversees. I guess I'm just a little more wary than you of taxpayer funds being put at risk to subsidize the operations of a company losing millions daily, with no business plan, and (as you youself admit) bad management. If they had a viable plan, instead of the rudderless ship they currently sail, I would support it heartily.

I'm sympathetic that it's "your" airline at stake here (it used to be "mine" for 15 years) but with the recent rearranging of the Titanic deck chairs going on right now (senior executive positions), employee battering, poor management (2 bankruptcys in 2 years?!?!?) and operational meltdowns (PHL), I not one to say "so what?" to this or anything else when it's my money at stake.
