I'm sure they will, just give them a call and talk to Brenda or Shirley.

If you've got 15 hours PIC in a twin, you should be good to go. They'll get you in and out quick (assuming you're proficient and can pass the required knowledge/practical test(s) that is).

They do the -II using their 141 syllabus as the initial (18 hours ground / 15 hours flight time including the check ride).

The CFI is added on (part 61) "to proficiency" to save time. No required ground school, just you and your CFI.

The MEI is also added on (part 61) "to proficiency" to save time. The guys that go through the whole program here (like me) get 15 hours in the Duchess (oh joy!) as PIC so we're elegible. After 14 hours of right seat stuff in the duchess, you better be ready for the ride.

I'm sure someone that has say 100-200 hours of ME time (other than training) could do the ME & OEI steep turn, approach, landing and Vmc demo. Not sure if they require you to critique any maneuvers by the "student" on this ride, but I'm sure it's fair game.

Shouldn't be a big deal...where most people have trouble here is the teaching aspect. I'm always told "don't get quiet on any checkride here", meaning don't stop talking about what you're doing and why you're doing it (teach it).

So, to make a long story even longer...if you've got the 15 hours of ME time and you can do the maneuvers, teach, understand the systems, etc. they'll probably be able to get you done in 5 hours in the duchess.

Hope this helps.

When I do the CMEL checkride, the examiner is technically my first passenger in a ME airplane, correct (same as the PPL ride)? So this would count towards my 15 hours of ME PIC needed for the MEI?

Thanks for the info. I've got a friend here that wants to get his multi instructor initially, so I figured I'd inquire.

Answer to your question -- yes, your examiner will fill out your logbook and write it as PIC.

The FAA wants all pilots to be PIC on their checkride.
