Anyone know of any ATP written test prep audio tapes or CD's? I have a 6 day drive ahead of me in about 2 weeks and I figured I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Thanks in advance.

And if I could piggy back on this question:

Does anybody know of a good computer based, or even text, ATP prep coursebook?

I know that King, ASA, Gleim, etc publish guides on how to pass the written. But I'm looking for more in depth discussion and not a simple memorization of test answers.

Thanks.

Dear God.... why?!?!?!

Well the answer is simple of course. In order to better understand something, and in that case remember it, I like to have a more in depth study of the material.

Maybe memorizing answers to a written exam works for other people, I would just like a little more information.

I'm not really good at rote memorization - - I recall what I understand. It's been a few years now, but I used King videos. They didn't just teach the test, but the concepts. Also included was a floppy disk with Test Prep software which included the entire test bank and some practice tests. It was very useful for practice and for determining which parts of the videos I needed to revisit. As I recall, the software was written for DOS 4.X or so... that should tell you how long it's been.

I'd bet the King products have improved considerably since then - - DVD's, better software, etc. - - but I doubt their personalities have changed. If you can tolerate listening to consummate aviation dorks for hours on end, they're good.

Thanks Tony, I'll give King another look.

Go to ATP and get it done in one day. Don't waste the time with trying to figure out the whole book. You will spend weeks on the performance problems.

Apparently you were not listening. He said he wanted to learn the MATERIAL, not the TEST.

In an hour or two one can learn how to work the problems so he can work ANY problem, including the ones on the ATP written.

I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but if it takes you weeks to get the performance problems, you don't need to have an ATP.
