Buddy of mine asked me this the other day, and I don't have any idea what the answer is but I thought I'd try to find out. Anyway, here goes...
If you take the ATP written exam and don't pass it, who signs off on the retraining endorsement so you can take it again? Guy is a 135 freight pilot, so he's obviously not been working with a CFI. Does a CFI need to sign off on it or is a self-endorsement thing like taking the test in the first place. If a CFI needs to sign off on it, can I do it even though I haven't ever given the guy any ground instruction (I mean, it's not like it's any skin off my back and that CFI ticket has just been getting renewed and unused for like 6 years, so....)
Anyone know?
Thanks.
