I carried around the boring red book for a couple months before I gave in and went to ATP. Yeah I could have studied the book, but just getting it done and over in 1 day was def worth the $. Did their computer training for it for 3 hours and got 100% The FAA writtens are a joke, why would you want to spend that much time studying for something that is pretty much pointless aside from being able to say yeah I passed it.
