1 side of me is feeling thats great to get hired from start of private...20+ months to a regional.

On the other side, I feel bad for the captain. Hopefully, the airlines that hired them are not hiring a bunch of dumb rocks who have no idea what to do given the PIC resposnsibility. I know a small chance will slip through, they always do.

You guys seems to think that ATP and Riddle are the same school. They are not. You scoff at the Riddle Pukes but consider this. At least Riddle offers a 4 year degree; in flying or NON-flying (i.e. engineering, business, safety, atc, etc). Also while the program is extremely expensive, it's pay-as-you-go and you still need to meet minimums for licenses and ratings. The training environment does not operate the ATP/Flightsafety fast-track way: drop 50 grand down and then "fast track" from 0 time to the right seat of an rj in 6 months. Most all Riddle Pukes when they get hired have been flying for at least 4 years and instructing for 1 or 2 as well. I'm not saying Riddle is the balls, in fact I still question my decision to go. But I DO know that they are better than these fast track schools. It seems not many people know the difference.

Best case senario at ATP you could go from 0 time to regional FO in 7 months:

210 days, 145 hrs SEngine + 290 hrs MEngine (70 hrs which is on FTD) = 435 hrs TT and all the ratings and a guaranteed CFI position if not hired by Express Jet.
$78,985 before taxes includes housing and everything except checkrides.

I thought it was supposed to add up to 500 hrs TT. Did I miss something?
