Well, it looks like they have stopped again with the Concourse C renovation, which was supposed to be complete by now. The rumour I hear now is they are planning jetways on C now! This would mean a loss of a little over half of ASA's parking spot on C. Any ideas what this may mean, or even if it is true?

ASA will be disolved soon enough. Skywest can park their 70/90's at the jetways at C once the construction is complete.

This is just inflamatory. SkyWest has no reason to lose their investment. People who insist on writing BS like this are just trying to use fear as a motivator for this do-nothing union we have.

FWIW. I heard after Delta announced they were going to be doing all ground operations that the renovations were on hold. This is so that Delta could evaluate what their needs would be for the space and changes made accordingly.

Scott Hall was in recurrent saying DAL halted concourse C renovations on the day it was to begin (either friday the 13th or 20th of April)
The plan now IS for jet ways at ALL ATL parking spots.....to make for the "seamless travel experience that is Delta Air Lines"
They will lose some parking spots on C but numbers aren't final. Also the thought is that Delta will park ASA anywhere in ATL just as all the other DCI currently do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Fins may have the details, but doesn't SKW, Inc hold the leases on the gates ASA uses in ATL. If so then JA does hold a bit of power as how things will flow in ATL. He is not going to let his investment just fall by DL's side. The ASA name may die ala CHQ but the a/c and crews will still have its presence there.

Sorry, but I don't know the current status of that situation.

I believe this was part of the sweetheart deal DL gave SKW Inc.

This is just a rumor...(of course this whole website is mostly rumors) but...

My neighbor works for big D - pretty high up the chain. He said he hasn't heard it from anyone reiable but there is a lot of talk of Delta buying back ASA real soon. He didn't have any details. He just said there was a lot of talk.

BTW, he was hearing rumors about Delta taking over all the gates months before we got that announcement.

It would explain a lot of things at ASA.

Once Delta takes over the gates and ramp, everything will be perfect. They can handle the same number of flights with half the gates once the new Delta people are there. It's all run by Delta now. Delta. Big D! Yeah!

DAL got the gates with the rest of the ground operations.

The Jetways will not be spaced like Concourses T - A - B.

The C gates and Jetways will be "remodeled" to handle up to an ERJ 195.

100 seat "Jets in June"

No plans for Concourse D mentioned.

Skywest won't lose anything on their investment. They will have the airplanes and all ground support equipment. It's the same minus the pilots.

If they are actually going to put jetways on concourse C what are they going to do with all the blue walkways that cost thousands each to buy and install.

Same thing they did with those expensive "Commut-a-walks" let them get grow mildew and rot. Maybe they can put some of those orange cones around them. They seem to have thousands of orange cones.

drove by the Delta north hangar yesterday...saw about 30 of the boarding ramps waiting for a home. They are sitting where there usually are spare/broken RJs...next to the old beat up Airtran 737-200 from way back when...painted white now.

As far as Jetways on C...someone mentioned the E195. You still need a fair amount of room. The wing span is about 100 feet...plus about 20-30' spacing wingtip to wingtip I suppose.

The largest wingspan at ASA is the ATR at 89ish feet...for comparison.

those have been there for at least two weeks, not sure of their purpose may be D- concourse.

ah...I haven't been over there in a while since I vacated ASA.

For real! Delta, when they owned ASA, did such an outstanding job running ASA didn't they? We'll see June 1st if Delta running the ramp/gates makes any difference. What's your $$$ on? I say the same, status quo!

For once, I agree with you 100%.
