I went to trade my Clark Howell pass for a Lot 3 and was told that they are not issuing any more passes due to an imminent change in the parking lots. Both Clark Howell and Lot 3 will be combined into a new lot on Camp Creek. The busses will run continuously through the new lot instead of on a set schedule. I was told that I could probably get a pass for this lot around August 1.

Sounds like what they have been saying for awhile no more lot 3

yea yea heard this five years ago, the ole camp creek parking lot. But I'm not doubting what you heard.

..... and the hits just keep coming.... great, another 30 minutes of "non duty" time with a bus schedule set to "whenever"

Crew Scheduling is so understanding when the bus does not come.... I witnessed the bus wreck into a light pole one afternoon - obviously the bus was no longer operating - crew scheduling said "not my problem" and threatened a trip failure.

Parked in hourly, at my expense.

Wow!
The examples of airline mis-management continue! As I sit here on furlough, I continue to be astonished at what I read, especially about ASA/TSA/Mesaba.

I got a temp job after getting laid off, and was surprised at how well they treated us. Dentist appointment? No Problem, just come in late, or leave early if you need to. Or, "We appreciate all of your hard work, so there's free pizza/cake/ice cream etc for you all in the break room."

Anyway, good luck everyone.

Were you a first year new hire at the time?

If not why didn't you just call the Chief pilot from the parking lot and tell them what was happening?

Another 30 minutes tacked on to every duty period. Another paycut.

What could a C.P. do? I expect Crew Scheduling to be the most ignorant, rude, unpleasant, dishonest, bastards they can possibly be - so I am rarely surprised. If they departure time gets pushed back, who loses sleep? If we get back late, who loses time at home with their family?

I wasn't worried about the "trip failure." The same Chief Pilots who have been neutered by the G.O. Management team also lack the authority (and interest) to fire me for showing up late after ASA's contracted service provider wrecked their bus. All calling would do is waste my cell phone minutes and their time, unless I spoke with C.V. in which case he would probably back scheduling.

Like most things around here, you just watch the situation snowball until you no longer find it amusing, then you do what you have to do to ensure that you are safe and that you get some sleep and you get home.

Of course moving off airport means that exasperated rampers could no longer drive tugs to lot 3 and abandon them at quitting time. I will miss seeing tugs outside the gate for the parking lot (he he he)

Sorry I'm lost now. I can't understand why you would park in hourly at your expense if you didn't worry about the trip failure. All I meant was in that situation I just do what I thought I am supposed to, which is call my supervisor (chief pilot) and sit back and let the events unfold.

I guess the whole old NWA hangar deal fell through. Couldn't decide who was going to pay to clean up the ecological mess that NWA left from all the plating they did over there.

That was the last rumour that I heard about where we would park. Lot's of parking over there, room for MTC and Parts and they were going to move the GO to some bank building across the street too.

There is an extra lot on Camp Creek that is not being used? I heard on the radio today that the airport was saying all the lots were full at the airport and to park off airport.

Maybe we'll park with the DAL folks at their lot off Camp Creek? That would be fun.

It's all cool folks.

This whole place will be a parking lot soon...that is if the company sticks to their paycut position.

Buscap - AMEN!

Legal Alien - I didn't say, but I expensed it. Just like I expense cabs when the hotel van is late. I've never (knock on wood) had a problem with getting reimbursed.

that was great

hey...some of us could park on the 10/28 bridge...there is already "parking striping" there

The camp creek rumor is new to me, I have been hearing the old Delta North hanger for ops mtc and parking.

It is the companies responsiblity to get you to work from the parking lot and they know it.

I was late due to the CH bus twice. Both times I called scheduling and then went talked to CC in the CPO. I never heard any more about it and it didn't show up as an occurrence when I did my probationary review.

I think that the Camp Creek lot belongs to Delta, but I'm not sure exactly where it is. The good news is that the buses will run continuously (or so I'm told) so the wait shouldn't be as long, especially for those of us who have to wait 20 minutes to for the 15 minute trip in from CH.

The problem is not that they run continuously, it is that the lot is much farther away and there will probably be the same number of buses.

I want back the DFW airport train to parking. Say what you will about the POS but the 5 minute ride to the terminal with trains every 5 minutes was nice.
