Contact the local police department and check. Also, if you belong to Seaplane Pilots Association they can tell you. Another rule of thumb, if the river or lake is considered a "Navigable Water Way" you can land and takeoff at you leasure.
Try the Army Corps of Engineers - they created and maintain the reservoir, as well as own the right of way on the shoreline (since it's not technically a lake).
Every year I hear about someone that drowns because they got caught on some branches under water or a boat that is damaged due to the same reason. There is a lot of stuff on the bottom. I like the water park though.
Cocktail Cove on the 4th is DA' Bomb if you like girls in thongs and showing there tops. I lived on the lake for about 2 yrs and while seaplanes are not allowed I have seen several land in the Six Mile Creek area of the lake.
