Is it true that the new runway is located too close to 9R/27L, and thus the ILS to 9L/27R sidestep to 9R/27L is being used? Clear as mud? Just trying to verify something I was told.

Also be careful in low visibility. Some genius decided it was a good idea to paint yellow lines on the sides of the runway over the bridge. They are the exact same markings as taxi lines and would lead you right off the side if you mistook them.

Seroiusly. If you land on 10 in reduced visibility the bridge looks a lot like a high speed. That'd be a big oops... all the way down to I-285.

The other day when they were running ILSs, to avoid conflict with the ILS 28, they were actually giving clearances to the ILS 9L, then having them sidestep to 9R when the runway was in sight.

It is a hugely long taxi from 10/28, with about a gazillion frequency changes before you get to the terminal.

hugely long taxi.....yeah right! i did it the other day. it took 4 extra minutes, with only one frequency change.

This bridge thing is going to be a huge problem! I landed on 10 today for the first time and as we rolled out we were a little fast for the first left we went by. I just headed for the next high speed to the left. Guess what? It's not a taxiway. I've got to thank my FO. He had been there before with his last Capt. and stopped me from proceeding over the edge. It's really deceptive because of the angle you see it from while you roll out.

They should paint that area green or something kinda like ORD on some of the taxiways. That would be better than the 50' drop to I-285.

pdiddy is a fix on ils 10, what happens when he changes his name again.

Are you F'REAL? He's just call up Shirley Franklin and have the fix changed. I'm surprised there hasn't been a P. Diddy Day in Atlanta to honor the honor of having a fix named after him. I mean, Ludacris got a day, so why shouldn't he?

Homeboy actually has a mansion a few miles from my apartment. I'd go ask him about changing his name again but I don't think he's ever been there. Too bad, there are (or were) some pretty interesting messages for him spray painted on the pavement outside the gate.

yes too close to another runway=piss poor design=********************_y development= no oversight and all this equals an equal opportunity employer that got the bid!!!!!!! Unbelievable

Maybe they've ironed out the kinks. We changed freqs four times counting ground, but not ramp. It took over 20 minutes after stopping at both the south runways before crossing.

Cleared direct LILKM, direct TUPAC, direct BYNCY and the 50CNT arrival.

Probably not far off..........

;)79%, don't forget "Snoop" outer marker! It will be there before we know it! Glad we could cover "All Dem Dar Bases!"
