Three words: W.T.F.??

This just gives the Co. permission to look and make a deal. No deals signed yet.

Bigger deal happening with the Co.'s opener to renegotiate our contract. It's a public record deposition from ATA mgt.

It's horrible! It may have galvinized the pilot group against the Co.

We need the support of all of you, especially ALPA Nat'l, to stop the gutting of our contracts. It wouldn't hurt to have SWAPA make a statement seeing as Denison came from SWA, got Gary K. hired, and is Herb's buddy.

There is no way this will pass as is, but could invoke an 1113c come August, which could result in the liquidation of ATA.

That contract proposal for the court is nothing short of insulting.

You really think Dennison, Gary K. or anyone in management at SWA gives a crap about anyone at ATA? Don't think so.

Good for you guys!

Reread my post. I never said they cared for ATA beyond the gates. I think they see some revenue generation that they can't do right now, but they haven't engendered much LUV from ATA employees.

I simply stated, indirectly, that SWAPA could raise the bar (pressure) by stating that they don't want "their" flying subserviced out to a "rinky-dink" little outfit.

I also want Dee-wayne Worthless, et al, to put their money where their mouth is and stop the descent into oblivion by supporting us publicly.

1113(e) ruling postponed

Ruling On ATA Airlines Pilot Pay Cuts Postponed To June 3
By Marc Hopkins, Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES, Dow Jones

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Judge Basil H. Lorch of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Indianapolis delayed a decision Wednesday on whether to extend pay cuts for ATA Airlines pilots as the company and the Air Line Pilots Association decided to continue talks on a compromise. A decision is expected by June 3.

Last week ATA Airlines parent, ATA Airlines Holdings Inc. (ATAHQ), filed a request with the bankruptcy court to postpone a provision in the pilots' contract that would increase the company's operating costs.

The company argued that it needs to avoid a 50% increase in pilot compensation that is scheduled to occur in two phases on June 1 and July 1.

Court papers said ATA is in "imminent danger" of falling below sufficient cash levels needed to stay in business, unless changes are made to a collective bargaining agreement with the pilots' union.

ATA said in addition to cutting its operating costs, the relief sought from the pay increases will allow the airline to stay in compliance with cash balance requirements of the Air Transportation Stabilization Board and Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV), which provided ATA with a $47 million debtor-in-possession loan.

Court papers said ATA wants to continue for four months the concessions originally agreed to by the union in June 2004 and in January and additional changes that reflect the company's "worsening financial position." The company didn't outline the additional contract changes it intends to impose.

Counsel for the pilots union said Wednesday that the union already has made concessions to help the company survive, and that forgiveness of certain loan covenants with lenders could be arranged to keep ATA from defaulting on its loans.

After several breaks for talks between the company and the union, the two sides ultimately decided more time was needed to work out a new agreement.

ATA has been operating under Chapter 11 protection since October 2004 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Indianapolis. The company is the 10th-largest U.S. air carrier based on revenue passenger miles.

More delay.

Perhaps when (more if) ATA execs can procure 67s, they could justify another retention bonus. Funding will be provided by further employee concessions.

What happened? I thought the 100 mln from southwest for the gates and the code share was going to save ATA? Seriously, has something changed in the business plan? Oil is mostly down, ticket prices have been raised. Is liquidation a real possibility now? I can't believe it.

There has been an increase in the company's cash burn rate which put us in danger of violating the ATSB and SWA covenants. Management is counting on the usual summer increase in loads (and continued onerous concessions from the pilot group) to get us through the next four months. Then they plan on giving up a little post-BK equity to get financing to get us through the winter of 2005-2006. By next spring, the new fleet plan should have matured into profits.

If not, I fire up the resume machine again.

Why wait? JetBlue, AirTran, Fedex, UPS, etc. are hiring now... Good luck.
