Per the CP Infoline: 3 newhires started today for L1011 FO positions. These will be the last 3 hired for CY2004 unless the fleet changes. With talks beginning this week, things will be interesting for those in the pool.

One of my poolie friends was offered this class but passed it up because of a job elsewhere. I wonder how many of us poolies are left?

I would certainly expect that we will have more classes later in the year in anticipation of the sj's (smaller jets) arrival. The CP hotline announcement is posturing. If the Company and Union can come to a mutually agreeable position on the 717 or E-190 pay scale -- and they order some -- things may heat up quickly. My guess is that most, if not all, of the initial FO's for the new a/c will be new-hires.

I agree with MT

"Accelerated" talks begin this week on the Small Jet (can't say what it is, but it starts with B and ends with 7) and concessions. The decision to get the new jets will come out very quickly. If we do get the B**7's, you poolies should standby the phone. If talks don't go well our fleet size will not grow in the near future.

I'm guardedly optimistic. Good luck to all.

Should we stand by the phone if we are still under active review????still got my fingers crossed...
