I agree, most furloughed pilots with ATA numbers are using them as a back up plan and have no immediate intention to return, including myself.
 
You know how this is going to play out...

SWA will aquire ATA's 73 operation only taking those that are current and qualified.

The rest of us out on furlough will just be SOL.
 
I'm not so sure SWA is buying anyone right now. Not that they haven't considered it.
 
Does anybody know if Matlin Patterson still owns ATA?

Yes, they do. 100% of it, privately held, until a public offering is made (IPO). IMHO, I think they'll sell us off before then.

If there is an IPO then ATA pilots get some of the "pie."
