To the pilots at ATA:
As a former Chicago Express pilot, Chicago Express intern, and ATA ramper, I have had much contact with many ATA pilots over the past few years. Every single pilot I have met at ATA has been very kind to the lowly ramper and regional pilot I was/am. I jumpseated many times, often up front due to high loads, on ATA. Each time, the crew made extra effort to make me feel comfortable. The pilots at ATA are an awesome group, and I wish each and every one of you the best. Hopefully the company pulls through these difficult times and comes out on top. It was a difficult step leaving Chicago Express to come where I am now, because I felt like I was leaving my family and my home at Chicago Midway. As I grew up, I watched ATA do so as well.
Best of luck to you all, and I hope I'm lucky enough to fly with many of you someday in the future.
Although in the Majors section, the same applies to the pilots I flew with at Chicago Express. A fine pilot group. I had so many good times at that company. Hopefully the Chapter 11 filing at ATA will not disrupt the future of C8 too much. I'm curious what a Saab will look like in AirTran colors. I have faith in Scott, Gary and the other management that they'll look for any solution to keep the company alive.
