We have slowed the race to the bottom for now. ATA Pilot Group turned down the POS LOA from the company, which included lower pay rate, loss of some retirement, and crap work rules.

Way to go guys

Manage or perish, We will not finance low fares and mis-management, anymore.

Good for your guys! I hope now that ATA management doesn't ask the judge to make your current CBA "null and void". Good luck, we're all counting on you.

Oh, we fully expect them to do this. Whether or not the judge will do it remains to be seen. One of the reasons that this LOA did not pass is that the company has been silent on any plans for the future. The employee infoline has not been updated in three weeks! If the company had been forthcoming with a business plan, or had actually taken the time to communicate with the pilots, the vote may have been different.

Good Luck guys/gals! Stand strong and united!

Thank you for taking a stand!

Go ahead, let the court decide! maybe for once a judge will give you a raise. stranger things have happened. I can see the ATA/SW legal team coming into the courtroom with puppy eyes asking for more givebacks. ha ha ha

Sounds like USAir and UAL. Cutting the employee pension plan and slashing salaries is the business plan of choice for clueless executives in the airline world.

Let it go to the judge. In the 757, we are already the lowest paid of major airline pilots. Let the Honorable Judge Lorch decide. The union is scared to death of the judge getting ahold of this thing. The POS LOA only got past the union by one vote. One NO and one abstained.
I am glad this pilot group had the pelotas to shoot this thing down and stop meaningless give backs to help out a mismanged company.
Their was no business plan, no communication, and a lame duck mgmt. Lets get some SWA brass in here to right this ship and I bet more than 20.8% will be willing to help out a bit.

Simply awesome. Yet again proof of how great the ATA pilot group really is.

Huzzah!

My hat's off to the ATA Pilots... not only for the great rides to/from work, but also for not being willing to finance mis-management. Good luck in getting more people out to experience your good product...

Why do I have a mental image of Charterpuke picking food out of a dumpster and criticizing others for rejecting a "perfectly good meal"?

Enjoy the mediocrity line.....or looking up at the bottom of the Poverty Line Charterpuke. Something tells me that pilots with the self confidence to tell their management to "manage or perish" are industrious enough to not be in the unemployment line too long.

Maybe they could be motivational speakers for the rest of us pilots....we need to stop acting like chronically abused spouses.
