News going around that ATA is going to make a announcment next week.

Any ideas what it could be?

The only announcement I heard was that they discontinued new hire classes until further notice.

and the rumor that they are trying to purchase NAA to get their 757s and 767s. i have heard no rumor of any announcement.

Doubt It.

North American Airlines. I sincerely doubt that ATA wants to purchase NAA. What possible reason?

Aircraft? They've never been cheaper or more plentiful; we'd just get our own.

Employees? I 've only been at ATA for a little while, but they seem very interested in hiring folks who will fit in with our company.

Routes/Gates/Landing rights? Does NAA have any with marketable value? I have no idea personally.

Agreements? (codeshare, etc) Again, does NAA have any transferrable code share agreements or marketing agreements?

George doesn't strike me as a guy that messes up too often. I can't see any possible rational explanation for going to the enormous cost and hassle of purchasing a complete company in order to get a couple Boeings.

Just my opinion, but I give this rumour two thumbs down.
