Just saw an ATA 737 on Fox News. Something about a collision with a ground vehicle during a military charter. Anybody got any more info?

due to high winds in MDW, a 737 came out of the chocks trying to weather vane into the wind and hit a catering truck. Damage was minimal and A/C is back in service.

It was an L1011 at North Island NAS. No injuries. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.

Sorry, I don't have any more details.

Here ya go I found it;

CORONADO, Calif. (AP) - A charter flight carrying 225 Navy and Coast Guard
reservists to the Persian Gulf was canceled after the plane struck a vehicle

while taxiing at North Island Naval Air Station.

No one on the ground or aboard the Lockheed L-1011 Tri-Star was injured, but

the flight was canceled and the sailors were to be housed in San Diego until

another flight could be found.

The incident occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday, after passengers from the

Harbor Defense Command Unit 11 and the Mobile In-Shore Undersea Warfare
Units 103 and 104, based in the San Francisco Bay area, had boarded the
American Trans Airway flight, the Navy said in a news release. As the plane
began to taxi, it hit a nearby support vehicle.

The Navy contacted the Federal Aviation Administration and the National
Transportation Safety Board to investigate.

Jeez, even AP News can't get our name right. I guess I should be happy they didn't refer to us as 'a low fare carrier based in Atlanta'.
