Which website?

Relocation means you get to the base assigned to fly and then you commute to wherever you want to live.

What do you think it means? Just wondering.

Fly safe,

Uh Oh...

I was afraid it meant relocating in the traditional (non-airline) sense. Glad to hear that is not the case.

Hi!

DDCharlie.

U have 2 resign your seniority. The work rules are decent and the pay is decent. 1st yr. is about $40K, and I believe 2nd yr. FOs make about $65-the contract is here: http://airlinepilotcontracts.com/

Domiciles are IND, MDW, SFO, and LAX. There may be one or 2 I don't know of.

Good luck!

PS-If you search for "TriStar_drvr" he works for ATA (I don't) and has posted a ton of stuff on them on this website.

I have heard very good things about ATA(except for the 1st and 2nd year pay) and have talked to a lot of the new hires at the Delta training center in ATL(the 738 sims and FTD training is done there). They seem very happy and I don't blame them. I like those winglets too on the 738. And, one of their Capt's told me that their 757-300's hold more people than our 767-400's---due to our first class section. That is amazing.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

ATA has been a great place to work for years and now with thier new contract and new airplanes it is a great place to work. It has been where I wanted to be before the industry was in the mess that it is in now. Many guys from other airlines have seemed to always look down on them but I know tons of people that work there some of them have been there from the begining. This airline is way underated by the average pilot at other airlines.

Hopefully my interview goes well.

Just curious, anyone know what the junior base is? How long does reserve usually last? Upgrade time? When are the L10's going away? (I'd love to fly one if I ever got on with ATA)

CF34-3B1

I believe that most of the newhires have been going to MDW. And it appears that 75% of htem are going into the 757.

As for being on reserve, if we keep hiring, you won't have to be on reserve at all. Pilots are finishing up IOE and holding regular lines.

When will the L1011 be replaced? There's a lot of rumors that ATA will replace them with 767s. Management has confessed that they have looked into this possibility but stated that it wouldn't make economic sense right now. Doesn't mean that it won't happen in the near future. Good Luck.

sayagain?

Great bunch of folks out there in IND!

I just interviewed yesterday in IND and I can't say enough great things about the people of ATA. I hope to hear something in a week!

Fly Safe!

Uh Oh...

P.S. They plan on more hiring soon!

I am in a class that started May 5.
Our class is 14 pilots.
All of us will be based in Midway flying the 757.
We have been told that ATA plans to hire as many pilots as their training dept can handle until the end of the year, then re-evaluate.
Starting pay is 36/hr. Second year 64/hr.
Upgrades in our class have been here for 5 years.
