from that very very insightful article you posted a link to:

"Plane Business, an airline industry news Web site, notes that ATA founder George Mikelsons owns 70% of the parent company and would probably lose ownership and control in event of bankruptcy. Columnist Holly Hegeman, who first reported that the sale of Midway assets was underway.."

wow, she broke the story. Now if she could break the story of how she defines 'assets at Midway'.

Dear Employees,

As indicated in our recent SEC filing, ATA is busy restructuring its finances. While engaged in that effort, we are not abandoning Chicago-Midway, nor are we canceling any flights. We look forward to continuing to provide outstanding value to our many customers.

Sincerely,
J. George Mikelsons
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
ATA Holdings Corp.

Also.....the 717 is a dead deal (my info...not Capt. Mikelsons).

Well no matter what is actually taking place behind the scenes, this bad press either factual or not is going to hurt ATA's MDW bookings.

Very sad situation and if proves to be untrue, it will be another case where sensationlism in the media has hurt a company and it's employees.
