This is gonna get interesting.

Eagleflip:

Do you mean what does the filing of the 1113c mean?

If that is your question, it means that the company has petitioned the bankruptcy court to throw out the entire pilot contract and impose the rules and conditions that the company sees fit. These rules and conditions, which they have made known to us, are pathetic at best.

If your question was what did I mean by saying it would get ugly, I meant that this could very likely lead to the pilot group withholding services (strike) which would most likely be the end of ATA.

wow. i knew things were not wonderful but i thought they were gettting better.

i guess i have been living in a cave too long. has something happened recently or has it been just a continued progression.

The source is the bankruptcy court documents.

Here is a what the MEC has to say:

MEC Bulletin -- 1113(c) filed
FROM: ATA MEC
TO: All ATA Flight Crewmembers

Late last night, August 10, the Company filed its 1113(c) motion with the
federal Bankruptcy Court in Indianapolis. The MEC and our legal counsel are now
reviewing the filing and have been preparing our response for some time. The
complete text of the filing should be available soon at the online ATA
bankruptcy website:

http://www.bmccorp.net/master.asp?InfoType=1&ClientID=78

The MEC will be holding at least one broadcast conference call early next week
to update you on the bankruptcy situation and give you the opportunity to ask
questions of our negotiators, attorneys and economic analysts. We will give you
more information about the calls once details are finalized. The conference
calls will be archived so that they will be available for listening even if you
are not able to participate in the actual call.

These are stressful times for all of us, but the 1113 filing was anticipated and
is just one more step in the long road that we hope will lead to ATA's emergence
from Chapter 11. As our negotiators have told the Company, we are not unmindful
of ATA's economic plight, but we demand that all employees, not just flight
crew, bear an equal share of the sacrifice and that we are fairly compensated
for the concessions we have already made. We want our compensation to rise as
the airline does, and not be locked into a long-term deal that keeps us in a
sub-standard contract.

A hearing on the 1113 motion has not been set, but could take place later this
month. The MEC will vigorously fight the motion in court and continue to seek
the fair deal we all deserve with all the internal and external resources
available to us. Please bear in mind that your MEC and all its resources are
working diligently behind the scenes to further the cause of ATA ALPA
crewmembers. We will continue to give you as much timely information as
possible, as events warrant.

You will be hearing more from the SPC and other committees soon; until then, try
to avoid spreading gossip or believing everything you hear on web forums or the
news media. We can win this battle, but only if we stay unified. Your MEC is
working for you and we thank you for your support, both in the past and in the
future.

"We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire...Give us the tools
and we will finish the job."

Well, the optimists thought it was getting better I guess.

Hang in there guys. We took our company HAL to the brink when they filed the 1113c on us.
The resources and legal help that ALPA provided our group was critical to our outcome. Hopefully you guys can come out of it in pretty good shape considering the circumstances.
