ATA's application has the question: "are you willing to relocate?" Does this imply a no commuter policy, or is a crash pad sufficient? I'd like to work there, but for me to move from central FL would be a show stopper.

A crashpad is fine, and ATA does have a commuter policy.

Not sure why that is on the app...

ATA has a very good commute policy. It only requires us to have 2 flights on any airline that would get us to work on time. If we get bumped off those flights, then we are not punished for missing the trip.

Commuting out of a city ATA serves, is the best option. All of our airplanes have 2 cockpit jumpseats in case the back fills up. If those 2 jumpseats fill, then you may sit in the extra F/A jumpseat provided the F/A's agree.

As an aside, I have heard 80% of our pilots based in MDW commute. Of course for the interview, I would say that I was willing to relocate.;)

Mach Zero,

Thanks for the reply. I'm living halfway between Orlando and Tampa, so there are several flights a day that would get me there.

Now if they'd just call me for an interview............

Hey! I do.

...well in the western suburbs.

...and you can't crash at my house.
