ATA Charter

I heard that ATA may be going back to all charter. Does anyone know if this is true and if so when?

If they are to weather this storm I have somewhat of a hard time believing that they will or can for that matter go back to strictly being a charter outfit. I would think (my opinion) that the merger would be much more likely to happen before this going back to "all charter" ops materializes. It would just seem to defy logical reasoning in more ways than one since they have worked this hard in recent times to get a decent route structure in place. I think the only way this would happen is if they can get some sweet heart of a deal to get rid of a lot of airplanes and assets to make it worth such a move, I wouldn't put much money on this if I were a gambling man but who knows. Anyone know how much cash they have left in the pot?.

Now, this is strictly my opinion, based upon NO actual facts or inside information, but, I think you will see a sell of all scheduled service of ATA including some, but not all, of the 757's. I think ATA will remain as a charter only airline using the 4 remaing L1011's and some of the 757s. I think GM knows how to run a charter op, but is totally clueless when it comes to scheduled service.
