Serious question, I heard that once the leases are up on the 717's they are going back to Boeing, and for the foreseable future all fleet growth will be 737's?

True?

Cheers!

Rumor

Leases run for many more years

And we get 1 more 717 this year. that will end the 717 order book and put us at 85 airframes I believe....oldest one in the fleet is now only 7 years old...hope to see them around for a while.

I think we are getting 2 more 717's. One in April, one in May. The eases are supposed to average 15 years leases, so barring any changes they will be here at least a few more years.

I had some MX folks tell me the other day that they were told the plan was to get rid of them before each ship turned 10 years old. I don't know if it is true, or how we would break the lease, or for that matter, who would take them, but that was the rumor.

With the exception of an additional 717 or two, this is true. I have not heard anything about plans to retire any aircraft.

Just look at NWA, these airframes have quite sometime to go.

On today's conference call, mgmt said the delivery schedule is:

1Q - 5 737-700's
2Q - 3 737-700's, and 2 717-200's(which will complete 717 orders)
3Q - 5 737-700's
4Q - 5 737-700's

Total 2006 deliveries, 20 aircraft.

Plus the order for the 787 later this year. Just kidding about the 787. :)

Are new hire classes still going about 50/50 for each aircraft?

It depends on what is needed. The next class, Jan 30 its 10 717 and 8 737.

I have seen some classes that are all 717 or all 737.

Days off are averaging12-13 with a LVI of nearly 90 for Feb. fewer legs a day than the 71.

I like the 'less legs' program... 2 slim and trim legs... lol...

spose when Tranny hits 30 tails or more the trips should improve ? Senior guys wont move till then.... ?? Ya reckon ?

You can look at the 737 bid packs on CrewBid.

It's already happening. The last award for 10 737 CA was mostly captains transitioning, and half of them were seniority numbers starting with a "5". I just keep treading water . . . . I can't complain, though, I have been a line holder for a year.
