AP, 2/6/2007- PRESS RELEASE (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
JET UNIVERSITY PLACES FIRST ASTRONAUT CANDIDATE
An unidentified spokesman from Florida-based JetUniversity confirmed that the pilot training school has placed its first astraunaut program graduate with NASA. "We are exceptionally pleased to have the opportunity of placing one of our graduates in the recently opened astronaut postion at NASA," said the spokesman. The pilot, as yet unnamed, had a total of 250 hours flight time, of which 190 were in the CRJ/Space Shuttle simulator. The program costs $105,000 and graduates are guaranteed an interview with NASA or a regional airline upon completing the program. "This is evidence that the astronaut-shortage has arrived," said a spokesman from rival Delta Connection Academy. DCA does not have an astronaut training program, stating that "When the astronauts are ready to move up to the airlines, they come to us."

I'm hurting

I think this whole thing about Lisa Nowak is blown way out of proportion to what she actually did. Don't you think attempted murder is a bit of a stretch? What if she only intended to rough her up or simply scare her?

I'd go with assault and attempted kidnapping.

Attempted murder in Fla.

All that is needed to substantiate the charge, for an arrest is for the victim to believe that he or she was in mortal danger and/or fear of death or great bodily harm.

The assailant (usually) must also possess the means to inflict the perceived danger.

She had a knife and from what I’ve read a replica handgun, any of those objects could place a person in fear of life or limb.

Now proving the claim beyond a reasonable doubt for a jury is altogether another story.

Irregardless if it was attempted murder or just to scare someone, there shouldn't be someone that nuts and unprofessional anywhere near a space shuttle or space program.
