just keep your eyes on the local news headlines this week...in fact make it the next 2 months.....let the games begin....

If the Astar guys are going to Press to Test, then they have 5 weeks to get it done. If they don't that is fine, but don't sqwawk if your contract takes another few years to get hammered out. You can't blame management; after all if you could delay a price increase, wouldn't you do the same thing?

Sounds like you guys are 'tired' of not having a contract. It's a little old school but should work. A letter to DHL in the USAToday would have been a little more direct. I guess I will carry a full suitcase on the last day of my blocks in December.

At least the realtor is happy...

Dasburg must be confident enough in the future to upgrade his digs...

In the Miami paper a month ago or so..

Bought a new place for $8-9 million I think...?

He claims he's gonna make his either way. I guess we'll see.

And as far as AStar pilots being twitchy, yep, you could say that. Dasburg's crack airline management team has yet to produce one dime of growth, revenue, or vision, while at the same time "muzzling the ox that treads out the grain" so to speak.

Dasburg has said at numerous occasions during his 3 year tenure that he was working on this deal or that deal but never produced anything. Nothing. Not a "W" to be found in the win/loss column. That makes him either incompetent or a liar. Either way, a loser by any measure. He has no credibilty with the pilot group, so, either he "brings it"...... or we will.

Now where are my white gloves anyway?

I found this in the Wilmington Journal this morning.... Interesting, very interesting. Hmmmm....

[FONT=ARIAL, SANS SERIF]A federal judge Wednesday evening issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) upon the ASTAR Air Cargo pilots' union, prohibiting the union members from a work stoppage overnight Wednesday.

According to court documents, ASTAR learned Wednesday afternoon that its pilots planned a work stoppage for Wednesday night, apparently in protest of the firing of an ASTAR pilot.

"We felt there was a legitimate and credible threat that there was going to be disruption to our operation," said Steve Rossum, ASTAR general counsel.

The DHL Air Park near Wilmington is the air hub for ASTAR Air Cargo.

Company attorneys supported their request for a TRO by citing the Railway Labor Act, and arguing that the union's grievance is a "minor dispute," and that the union is not permitted to strike over a minor dispute.

"If unions were permitted to strike over minor disputes, the courts have reasoned, it would eviscerate the RLA's [Railway Labor Act's] procedures that are designed to maintain stability in the transportation industry," according to a court document filed by ASTAR.

Yep, we're having fun now Avatrix!! Of course, the company is full of poopie. We know the law. I guess our management is getting "twitchy" too. ;)

Yes, I'm sure things are going to get very interesting. :)

First things first....Aviatrix, before you ask, I have know idea what the h3ll happened to the Tigers last Sat. Thankfully, at halftime, I headed over to NAS Pensacola to watch The Blue's homecoming show. I needed to watch some winners. BUT.......,

Speaking of winning, keep an eye on the front page of the ILN paper tomorrow and you'll see that after hearing all the evidence (or lack there of) the same judge vacated his own TRO, and promptly ordered AStar to pay all court and attorney's fees for wasting his and the court's time.

CCCCCCCCan I get a witness?!

gearjockey - If any AStar guys are twitchy....it's management.
