I had a feeling we would do all this downsizing for a slow winter, then Delta would go ahead and change their mind and ramp up the flying. Looks like come November we'll be in Summer 09 Madness mode again. At least we'll have a lil more variety of flying besides in and out of ATL all day.

Yes.....more flying but did you notice that they are also increasing the reserves again! After adding about 70 reserves for Oct, they plan on adding more for Nov. So, who does the increased flying benefit?

Are you suffering from lack of seniority?

Who isn't, with all the guys who couldn't "take that paycut" for a year to move on in life 20+ years ago.

Don't forget the 5 year furlough either. You're right, from now on we need to assign the best schedules starting with the most Jr. up. Now, GFY :D.

Troj....It's one thing to claim the seniority stuff until you are talking about people that have been line holders for 2 years or more, then taking it the shorts in one short month. We all get the seniority thing, but the line drop was drastic. Enjoy your line and your high line value. I sleep well knowing the senior guys enjoy such great schedule flexibility. Anything I can do to help.

Why did you upgrade 79%? The line drop was a result of a bunch of people whining about red arrow days. When you hold a line (which shouldn't be too far into the future hopefully), how would you feel if those that are coming up felt they should have more time off, or better yet, "share" in their reserve?

I will enjoy my line. I've put my time in. You will too. Sorry you have to sit reserve, that sucks. I remembering duking it out a few years ago with a dude on the ALPA Board who upgraded and didn't want to sit reserve. He decided it would be great for lineholders to "share the pain." Sorry, I won't do that. You won't either in a couple of months.

I can't help feeling like we were mislead by management that we needed downgrades and furloughs. We are still doing over 800 flights a day (a normal summer schedule) and now we're increasing that in the next few months. Just because we had 1000 flights a day in the summer doesn't mean we are below average on our number of flights now. I just don't see a drastic cut from years past. Maybe someone has some hard data.
