Just got my uniforms today....oh my god, do you guys realize how UGLY the hat is? I know, I know - "I bet you didn't say you didn't want to wear a hat during the interview."

If I have to wear an ugly hat to fly that jet, I will wear an ugly hat. But I just thought someone should tell someone at ASA that they are ugly.

Are they really that strict on wearing them?

I think, as far as hats go, the ASA hat is very nice looking! Sure beats AA, and AE.

First off... Its a "uniform hat". Not unlike EVERYONE else in style.
Second... If you just got hired. Shut the he!! up about the hat. Its the last thing you have to worry about now! :)

What hat did you buy? There are two that I looked at, Superior and Bankroft (sp?). Superior hats are more round, the Bankrofts are sorta oval, it depends on your melon. They're no uglier than the rest. Gotta watch out for Mr Uniform, CP in Dallas moving to Salt Lake, you'll wear your hat around him.

Hope it helps,

S

Some advice I got from an ancient DC-9 driver: take out the foam ring, cut about two inches out of it, splice it back together, and put it back in the hat. It'll still keep the hat's form, and you won't look quite so much like there's a manhole cover on you head.

73belair,

did something crawl up your @ss? just kidding around about the hat. didn't mean to upset you.

did your mama design that hat????????

I've seen quite a few ASA pilots in my day and I don't think the ASA hat is any more/less ugly than any I have had to wear. Who cares what it looks like anyway? Just wear it, shut up, and pass IOE first.....

No Delay,
If I were you I would be Bittchin' about the fact that the FA's wouldn't look very good wearing what your avitar has on.!

SWEEEEET

Don't wear the hat!!! and when your union lackey tries to give you grief about it say; "No contract, No hat!"

blzr,

oh man, you are dead on about the FA. we did some "fire training" and there was a class of FAs there at the same time....about 5 or 6 of them were age 55+, 2 were huge, 2 were gay looking guys.

what happened to this industry?

Young man you're confused. No, you don't have to wear the hat (ugly or pretty) to fly the jet. If fact, that's a no, no. You wear the hat to walk around in the terminal. You take it off when you get "in the jet" and when you sit down to eat. You also take it off when you get in your car to drive home.

The only "airline" (loose term) that wears hats to fly is TAB Express. So please, do not wear the hat while you're "flying the jet".

PS. Hope you didn't buy it so big that it covers your ears; now that is ugly.

Uhhh.... yeah.... don't do that - you think the hat's ugly NOW, sheesh! Do that and you'll look like the conductor from "Polar Express!"
