Remember when FSI was doing the 120 training? That right there is reason enough to pay the instructors everything that they get. You farm training out to the lowest bidder you will have the same thing that we have on the ramp.

They are already farming out some of the Systems ground school to DGS pilots. I guess retired pilots. They were teaching ops, but they stopped cause of teaching issues.

Haven't most of the majors farmed out their ground school instructors?

Yes. But what is the going rate for a legacy airline ground instructor. Probly more than ours, hence the problems.

I don't care. When I went thru RJ training, most of it was in front of a computer and the ASA instructor said he was just a "facilitator". If we can save money on "facilitators" who oversee computer based ground training, I don't really care.

And I suppose he or she did not answer any of your questions or help you in any way because you were such an RJ expert. The guys and gals in the training dept work very hard to make it the best there is, I would know, they are top notch. That is how it starts farm out the instructors, didn't they do that with flying at some airlines? hmmm.

Actually, he wasn't much help. That being said, we do have some great instructors, and we have some tools. Some are great, and some want to try and impress me with how much they know. We have both kinds here at ASA. Most of the majors farm out the ground schools and they do just fine, I suspect we would do just fine also. The fact is, this offer isn't what I want either, but I do understand the realities of the industry. If I am willing to suck it up, I expect the instructors to also. If it is so bad, they can always come back to the line.

I think we should farm out the CRJ engineering department too. Or the program manager. Many airlines do it just fine, right Biscuit? You can just come back to the line...

Keep blaming all your problems on the DL mec. If it makes you feel better, then so be it. Your group of DUI's and college dropouts makes me laugh! Your constant pointing of the finger gets old and tiresome! Maybe you should look in the mirror! Your true enemy is management. But if blaming the evil DL mainline pilots makes you feel better, have at it sport!

I'm just curious..........what does having a DUI in your past....oh say at the age of 19.................have to do with your ability and professionalism as a regional pilot, with well over 16000 hours of flight experience at the age of ................oh........say 40?

Tool...........

I am certainly not in favor of management, or some of the departments, but WD is actually a nice guy, never had a problem with him. That being said stand firm, don't put up with the bs, definitely proud to have been apart of the pilot group for contract 98 and most of contract 2002!

Do your instructors give you specific training on not shutting down both motors climbing out of LAX, nearly ditching into the pacific, get a relight, and then continue to CVG as if nothing happened. Ya, you guys are the best.

BTW, good friends with a couple of current DAL pilots, both with DUI's, one only has a high school diploma. Both good pilots, can't say the same for you.

You worry about turns around a point spartky, the only jet engine you'll ever see is when you walk by it servicing the lav!

Are you indicative of the professionalism over at DAL in the right seat? I hope not, but hey, what do I know?

BTW...........I never said I had a DUI in my past. You assumed that, and we all know what happens with assumptions. It makes an a$$ out of those that do it.

Oh, humour me some more..................Can't answer the question about your professionalism, can you?

Obvious? Really? You know something about my driving record that I don't? Keep assuming. It's illustrative of your intelligence. Somewhere below the GED level.

We need to work on getting the 30 day cooling off period. The future points toward all 70's going to Skywest, and ASA having all 50's and ATR's. We need to act now and get the ball rolling. Management is purposely stalling so their slow whipsaw comes into effect.

Isn't that what ALPA is doing? Didn't we just vote to stike? Are you implying that ALPA isn't working on getting a cooling off period? Why did we vote then?

If you don't know why the vote was taken, then you're very ignorant if you're an ASA ALPA pilot, or some management puke stirring it up. You figure it out Biscuit, whoever you are.

VOTED IN FAVOR!

I was told that the strike was needed to get a cooling off period. I was also told that it didn't really mean we would strike. I was told it was to send a message to management. Which is true? Wasn't the strike vote so we could get a cooling off period? It wasn't a bluff was it?
