Nope. It has always been 3 in a rolling 12 month period. The 4th gets you a CP letter inquiring about your health. The 5th is a meeting with the CP. The 6th, well, we don't talk about the 6th.

3 in 6 gets a letter. 4 in 12, 5 in 12, 6 in 12, and 7 in 12 all are letters too. 7 technically is termination, but that doesn't happen much.

Ever, I don't know of anyone at Asa that has ever been fired for calling in sick. Not to say it couldn't happen, but as far as I know, it's never happened before for seven.

If the reason for the fatigue was the company's fault, you are paid normally. In any case, fill out a fatigue form.

I'm not sure about the docking of pay.

If the Chief Pilot you talk to is RC (Mustache Man), then it is never the Company's fault..... aint payin' ya bouy................

How about for starters, you all adopt our fatigue/sick call policy? Either occurrence is paid out of your sick bank. A fatigue call requires filing an ASAP report, that's it. You're allowed 3 "unexcused" sick calls in a rolling 12 month period. If you want them excused, just turn in a doctor's note to your Chief and voila! Works great.

Nah, that sounds like an improvement, so long as you're legitimately sick. 3 freebies for "sickcation," and any other time in excess of that, just go see the doc for a note. While ponying up the copay to see the doc is a pain, it at least allows you to stay home and be sick when you're really sick, and not weigh "how sick am I" against "how much trouble will I get in."

Their method beats getting the nasty gram for your 4th time out, regardless of whether you're legitimately sick or not.

ASA's sick policy isn't bad. It's the sick time accrual that needs improvement.

i've always heard of a couple real sr pilot were fired but got their jobs back because of alpa back in the 80s I think
