On June 8, 2006, ASA plans to introduce daily nonstop "Delta Connection" service between Atlanta, Georgia and Kingston, Jamaica with 70-seat CRJ aircraft, under DL* code of Delta Air Lines, Inc. ("Delta") . Because flights with 70-seat aircraft do not qualify as small aircraft operations, ASA requires an exemption, under which it desires the flexibility to introduce additional U.S.-Jamaica services in the future as market conditions warrant.

I heard the overnight would be at hedo 2.
Disgusting. There are some low-class broads at ASA who might enjoy being gaggled at by overweight, beer drinking construction workers on "vacation".

Sure!

Overnight, my foot! You really think scheduling will let us stay there, Cancun, Bahamas, Etc?
No, we only get 30 hour overnights at choice locations.:puke:

YA Man.... Smokin da Ganja in da Kingston.... Redemtion song... erbody sing.. Redemtion song... OK, how 'bout Buffalo Soldier?

You know, if this 705 materializes and has only 70 seats, the range of this aircraft is beyond what we are use to. If we start going beyond 1500 miles, we won't be able to complete the round trip in 8 hours. Since most of these places are probably going to be once a day, we are looking at 24 hour overnights. Here are numbers from Bombardier:

Series 705ER
MTOW 82,500
Typ BOW 47,500
Fuel(full) 19,450
and that leaves you with 15,800 payload. Carrying 70 people 1500nm is easy. Should be spaced out enough to be as comforatable as the E-170 and we will be flying 10% faster on the same burn. Sounds like a winner to me.

The way around the 8 hour rule is to have one crew dh down and fly back while the other crew does the opposite. They lose 2 seats in the cabin for crew but it saves them the cost of the overnight. This is how we do much of the island flying at UAL. Our F/A's don't have an 8 hour limit for so called intl ops. so it does not affect them

78 seats at 50 seat rates----New thought have every pax. give the captain 8.00 the fo 5.00 and the fas 3.00,,for their flight.--that is every leg...could be a new charge on the ticket. CREW CHARGE. 70x8=560 for that ont flight. 70x5=350.00 for that flight--Take this and they can keep their 401k...

vs
75x3hours=225.00 fo 35x3=105.00

I hope they can get the comfort factor down this time. Thank You engineers

You mean, like they spaced out the seats in the 40 to make it more comfortable?

That was to keep the option open for adding 10 seats if they wanted to and paying the difference.

I won't ever step foot onto the carribeans most disgusting island! more reason to stay on the 50~!
