From just reading the first post I have to say congratulations on just reaching a TA. Hopefully all of the sections and wording is solid and you all can get a contracts.

You will make more than your .90 raise in Profit sharing and duty rigs. Please don't consider hourly rates as the only barometer of your compensation. Those are things we have never had. Also consider the massive QOL improvements we have achieved much earlier in these negotiations, things in the scheduling/reserve sections. This is more than a .90/hr increase for you.

True, hourly rates aren't everything, but they're a big piece of the pie. Seriously, how much do you think pilots can make from profit sharing with "the worst airline in the biz" On-time performace is crap. And we're depending on the thieves in the GO to cruch all the numbers.

Not to mention, several of the other sections have been TA'd for 3-4 years now. So we're starting off with outdated rules/policies.

Let's also not forget, effective Dec. 1 the travel benefits are being slashed.

I'm just saying, I expected a lot more after 5 years of this.

Sure would be nice if everyone would wait to find out what is included in the TA before making their decision on it. BL and his buddies probably love seeing the "let's get this done and move on" comments being made based solely on what little has been released.

this is not flame, a serious question.

why do you think they agreed to it now? in another month or so the ALPA vote will be done at SkyWest, wouldn't that have given them more leverage to wait?

what items are you guys not happy with? what were you asking for that you didn't get?

thanks

I'm not sure if this is right or wrong, but I have heard if it's a signing bonus, past pilots don't get any money, whereas if it were "retro", then they would be entitled to it..

Former employees (excluding retirees) are no longer a part of your bargaining unit. If the company did not pay them you would not be able to take enforcement action. The value of the bonus can be ensured by keeping it in the bargaining unit.

Guys that resigned from ASA made a conscious and deliberate decision to leave. Most likely it was a career enhancement. Why is there all of a sudden a need for ASA ALPA to show these guys loyalty when it wasn't worth it for them to stick it out?

Watch the language on that duty rig. It read exactly like Skywest's. But to the company that doesn't include layovers.

Don't forget about our pilots too!! All a collective effort in not giving up.

Putting this down here as not to hijack the thread...
Yes he did get benched. Carson Palmer didn't have a stellar start either, look at what he's doing. Matt is arguably the best COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB in the history of the sport.

WTF?!?!

Matt couldn't hold Namath's jock...

Talk to me when you get your 12th NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

ROLL TIDE!!!

Why did your dad and uncle vote to give up scope and create a bidding war for those same jobs.
they didn't, but way to start making excuses as to why we accept crap pay.
