Well when your not making much money the per diem checks really help out. If I'm only getting 6 hours a month you can imagine what my check is like. Also this day and age its nice to have more flight time on your resume.

6 hours of CRJ time is still better than 30 hours of C172 flight instruction time.
 
However, 75 hours min is not much more pay than an FO on 90 hours line.

Gotta pay the bills!
 
what's the date of hire for the most junior CAs at ASA these days?

We had a few guys in our class that started March '05. There are two more classes presently running and a recent bid for upgrade that was just posted.
