Yeah, I just started reserve this month and like you I only did it for one month as a new hire. This month so far it's been very uneventful. Just a two day as of now. Well, at least I live in Atlanta so I don't really have any reason to complain. Any other good ideas to kill time other than sitting at the pool getting skin cancer, working out and cleaning house?

Better get used to it on reserve. Come Sept. many more will be, and those of us that are now will continue to be for a long tiime. I think downgrades may even happen.

Politely hold scheduling accountable and they will correct the problem with a call out of order. I have several times. Just have the info ready for them. Print it out and give it to PD with facts so he can have examples to use.

I'm saying do this even if they fix it, so they wont do it to others in the future.

Shoot, in August there are already gonna be about 130 reserve captains if they have another month of 370 lines. Come Sept/Oct when the ATR guys move over and the block hours drop, I'm guessing there will be around 150-170 reserve captains on the 200.

I've only been here for four years. Has ASA ever downgraded before?

I don't suppose the contract lets me keep my captain pay if I get dumped back to FO?

wishful thinking I know.

As far as pay goes, whatever. I'm not making that much more as a reserve captain than I was as a FO crediting 90 hrs per month. But I'd REALLY hate to have to give up my fourth stripe.

I am with ya there.

If you're downgraded you still get to wear the stripe so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Chicks will still think you're the man.

Alright then, it's all good. Well not really but I'm trying to be positive ;-)

Dude, we have a contract. Read it.

AMEN!Makes you kind of wonder how he got all thos ratings, doesn't it! Ever heard the cliche, "Knowledge is Power!" If you are on reserve, you should be an expert on the new contract by now! Or, you can be scheduling's bye-itch! The choice is yours!

nevermind

Never mind? Editing your post? Just read the scheduling section! The sad part is that the schedulers know it better than most pilots--or at least, make most pilots who don't know it, think they do! It's a game--read the rules! Be the authority and not the Moron! Make it work for you! Sorry, for the perceived insult, but geesh, if you can know the regs, you can know the scheduling section!

The reason I edited my post was because I felt bad insulting you hiding from behind a computer, I have a little more respect for my fellow pilot group than some others obviously do. At no point did I say I didn't know the contract. I simply asked for personal experiences about the chances of getting called at certain times in the day. I'm sorry but I couldn't find the section on personal experience in the contract. The only thing I was uncertain about was the bucket, so I asked.
Hey Speedy, life is good, relax and enjoy it!
