We may have small craniums, but our bank accounts are big and fat. And the last time I checked, it was the green that paid off the mortgage.

And what kind of advice would you be referring to? What could I possibly learn from you that I didn't already receive in third grade??
You know, it's comments from VABB and other mainline pilots that are truly insiteful. I have watched mainline pilots dump on regional guys for years. To say it hasn't caused some bitterness would be wrong.

The Delta guys, IMHO, are great as individuals. But, as a pilot group they are the greediest, most arrogant, and self-righteous people I have ever met. It's statements like the above that make the more seasoned regional guys wonder if the world wouldn't be a better place without Delta airlines.

As much as you hate to admit it, DAL needs ASA/Comair more than we need you. IF DAL does tank, it would probably leave all of the regionals with explosive growth and prosperity.

I resist WANTING Delta to tank, as so many lives are at state (other than a spoiled pilot group)...but sometimes I wonder how you fellas would fare if you had to go out and get real jobs.

Not quite Palerider....

If DAL goes under, we (ASA) go under with it! If you think we can get along without big D, you're mistaken. We need Delta far more than they need us. There is no shortage of RJ operators out there. Many of them willing to provide their services for far less that what we charge. Not that DAL wants to get rid of us, but it certainly could happen. ASA would have a much harder time trying to find someone interested in our 140+ airplanes, than DAL would trying to replace us. The RJ boom is winding down, that's exactly why ACA went on it's own. Time will tell if they can make it work.

Just my 2 cents

As far as Delta "tanking"---if we were to go Chap 11, then a lot of the Debt would be erased, the leases would come down, and they could do whatever they want with our contract and YOURS. If you think you won't be targeted, think again. Your rates will be closer to Mesa's than ours......

Bye Bye--General Lee

"greedy, most arrogant, and self-righteous" group of individuals. So, if ASA offered you $200K+ to fly a regional jet, I'm betting you would turn it down because you are not greedy.

Sorry Dude, I didn't know that fat old bimbo at the bar was your old lady! Oh, please tell her I left my DCI hat under your bed and I want it back. And, sorry about leaving the seat up.
She wasn't. She's your sister and she said I'm bigger than you and I kiss better. Either you get really drunk a lot, or you are just trying to keep it in the family.

Don't worry about the seat.

If DALPA had wanted the RJ flying, they wouldn't have created a scope clause that allowed hundreds of RJ's to go to affiliates (owned or contract). If DALPA had really wanted the RJ flying, they would have demanded that all DL flying be done by DL pilots.

However, DALPA didn't want the RJ flying.
Medflyer, using your logic if CMR pilots wanted to merge seniority lists in the event of an acquisition they would have required it in their PWA. If CMR wanted scope over DCI flying they would never have settled with management until they got it?

2% rule

This is the place (this board) that really proves the 2% rule is true. There are always the 2% of any company that are the a$$holes and make the rest of them look bad. I believe the majority of pilots on all sides of this 3 sided coin want each other to survive.

I love how Scope just gets tossed around like it is all bad and that it has to go, then why don't we get rid of it in our contract and see what happens. The DAL guys are just trying to protect themselves, like we are in our contract.

If DAL goes bankrupt (god forbid...and I mean that) DAL is not going to effect our contract except for some more delays and stalling techniques... so whats new
(2 years isn't enough?). If we were on the seniority list then it would be a different story.
Not bashing anyone, we are all in this together... whatever our wallet size.

...would I turn it down? No. But I wouldn't be surprised and shocked when my company went bankrupt. I guess I ask less of life then you, all I want is to make a decent wage and have a good QOL. Also, I try to be helpful and respectful of my bretheren regardless of who they fly for or what equipment is strapped to their backside. The wicked snobbery of mainline pilots will come back to haunt them, it certainly make me much less willing to go the distance to help DAL.

General, perhaps DAL will tank, the judge will savage our contract and we will be offered Mesa wages...who knows. If that's the case, then I'm out. I'll let the 21-23 year olds have this profession and I'll head back to my real money making endeavors (something I'm SERIOUSLY considering already).

E-120: I think the flying that ASA/CMR do will always be around, and yes it's possible that someone other than ASA/CMR will do it...who can tell. Again, I don't WANT DAL to tank, but if they do, SOMEONE will pick up that flying. A lot of that flying will be done by RJ's from a mulititude of airlines, and not necessarlily in DAL colors.

I guess I'm just tired of the galactic struggle: Mainline/regional, RJ/widebody, etc., etc.

It is too bad more people don't think like this. I mean that. There has to be a limit to not wanting to do this below a certain amount of $$! I am also looking a my plan "B". The problem Palerider957 is that you and I are setting limits, and that is admirable, but there is always someone willing to do our job for less, its just facts! If enough people said "screw this," then maybe our wages would stop heading south as the cost of living keeps going north.

So did SB resign? I think this thread set a new hijacking record. I think it only took 3 posts.

Haven't seen a press release, so I would guess probably not. But why cloud this thread with its original purpose?;)
