Did my loft today. Good time. Noticed a couple SKYW pilots in ATL for some training. I was just wondering what current ASA and SKYW pilots think. In five years will ASA exist or be replaced by SKYW (mainline)?

I think ASA will be replaced by Skywest slowly. The union will say it isn't really happening, or it was going to happen anyway, or some other BS.

I could have written this script that ASA management is using. Their latest plot is to scare us into thinking we are going to lose our jobs if we don't cave. They are out to bust the union. Don't you all remember when Comair started flying into ATL right after we started negotiations (like a half a decade ago). Remember where they parked? Right in front of the windows of the pilot lounge. Think it was just coincidence? You think Skywest training pilots in ATL is not just a show? I bet their sim in SLC is idle. Problem is they are also trying to bid on new flying and keeping the union off the property at Skywest at the same time. Hey Jerry, you got 15 pounds of crap to put in your 5 pound sack! Something has to give I can guarantee it won't be the ASA pilots!!!!!

Well, I'm ready for my own show. It's called burning this place down. Voted in Favor, savings account is full, resume is about ready, and all my SKYW stock has been liqudated.

Look what happened to CMR and Allegany and ACA and Mesaba. I bet they were saying the same thing.

OMG, the sky is falling! What you fail to realize is that the majority of ASA pilots don't care. It's the management geeks like yourself who are freaking out over having to find new jobs!

You know you cannot get enough votes to take over the majority without going in the crew lounge and speaking out. You won't do that because you're afraid.

Your whining here on flightinfo will only rally your handful of supporters, and scare the junior pilots, who can't vote anyhow if on probation (but will eventually learn the truth about you and your management buddies). You cannot organize a majority here. You lost.

Now you have choices. You can STFU and go with the flow. You can hit the crew loungs and try to sway opinions. Or you can quit ASA and go somewhere that they agree with your ideas. The choice is up to you.

Whining on an anonymous message board won't get you where you want to be.

Yes, it has long been my opinion that SkyWest will continue to draw down ASA. Jerry Atkin told us so and allthough most in the room considered his statement a threat, it was probably not a bluff. Eventually the remainder of ASA will be folded in to SkyWest. I am not sure whether pilots will be included.

Management's current scope offer is in effect a staple on the bottom of the SkyWest seniority list (at the company's discretion) with longevity for vacation and pay. Obviously improvements in this section are important given the scenarios that most of us see on the horizon.

I'm not suggesting we roll over on the contract. Quite the opposite. I think we need to hold firm to a section one that provides a future for ASA with our pilots as part of that future.

The sims in SLC are being used to the max, sometimes even the maintenance block from 2a to 6a is used. We've used the ATL sims before.

Good, if that happens, it happens. Guess you'll be out of a job, or won't get one mgt promised you by coming on fltinfo and trying to scare real pilots. Now, back to your cartoons you whiny little beeetch!

VOTED IN FAVOR!

incorrect.

the sims are maxed out, forcing us to use sims in Atlanta, Montreal, and sometimes Cincinnati.

I don't think we should roll over on the contract either. I think we should ditch everthing for the merger.

1. SKYW makes more than us
2. They training our replacement workers
3. In the end you will be working for SKYW one way or another. It would be nice to get to second year pay.

So is it general agreement that ASA is being erased?

Eventually there will be a merger of the companies, especially if we will agree to sub skywest rates and rules. When the merger happens all these scabs in training at skywest will piss on themselves thinking they will be senior to everyone at ASA, WRONG. Date of hire will be the order of the day, served with a side of split pay finally for you losers.

Well, both sides now seem to have ASA's current 70 seat book on the table. Bring over section 13 and "all Skywest flying done by pilots on the SkyWest seniority list" - where do I sign? Has this been proposed, or even supposed? If not, why not? Sounds like a great supposal to me!

How do you suppose you are going to pull that one off? Non-Union SkyWest and the company favors them, it's there baby and it has been for some time now. You really think that SkyWest Inc. would do that to all the people that worked so hard to make SkyWest what it is, to just put in the ASA pilots DOH.

I went through EAGLE/BIZEX merger of the list and that was ugly. And we were both ALPA. It's going to be hard to pull a non-union/ALPA merger off.

There is that "scab" word again.....

Yet another one who has no clue of the meaning.

Ummmm....assets are NOT being transferred to SKYW. Trust me. ;)
