Got this from a Pilot-2-Pilot dude:

Our MEC recently became aware of an e-mail memo that was distributed by
ASA Director of Crew Resources Gary Gross to Crew Resources personnel.
The subject was "Crew Member Comments." Specifically, the message said:

"As contract negotiations continue, you may hear crew members make
inappropriate comments such as 'I'm not doing that because negotiations
are taking too long,' 'All these sick calls are because of
negotiations,' 'we can make the company suffer if we want to,' etc. . .
If a crew member makes an inappropriate comment, please send me an
e-mail immediately with as much specifics as you can provide. I need
the crew member's name, the date and time, the phone you were on, and
the quoted comment, etc. Thanks."

A word to the wise - be careful what you say.

There are a variety of reasons why management could be doing this.
Regardless of the rationale, we strongly advise all pilots to exercise
extreme caution when speaking with schedulers and management.

you can tell that ASA and DL mgtm. have the same mind set...

NO BRAINS-

Treat employees like that and they will treat the PAx like that

You idiot!
Taking things into your own hands is illegal. Get a clue before you start mouthing off. That same management probably gave you a job.

If I heard a fellow pilot say something like that...you bet...I'd be firing out an email to management, right away!

....just as soon as hell freezes over!

The old joke about the beatings continuing until morale improves is so true.

Captain Overs,

Not writing up a maintenace item or waiting to "discover" it until you are under way is illegal. Yet, that is still ENCOURAGED by management. You could lose your job over that too, you "IDIOT" Geez, that's the second one finger salute of the night. I gotta go to bed! Good night Gracie!

Captain Overs:

I just flew back in First Class on Delta and the DL employees did as little as they could do, to call their job done. On an International flight, in First Class, the stews made one pass with the Sun Chips and sat down with the USA today, or favorite book with Fabio on the cover, until the flight was over with. Their arrival video for Mexico City was played as we decended into Atlanta.

I think that is what he means. The cabin folks were very tired, or very disgruntled. Either way, it was not impressive.

ASA has some great people. We prefer to go the extra mile. A memo like the one mentioned at the top of the page might discourage folks, since threats are not usually the way to inspire an employee's best performance.

Hey Tomcat, enough of the sarcasm. It will be noted in my memo to my friends in management. ;)

ASA mgmt. use the stick and carrot method. They beat you with the stick then shove the carrott up your A#$%.

...Because most pilot groups work harder and more efficiently when they're being screwed. Good job. Team player. Keep up the good work.

I talked to a Delta stew who said she actually took over for an ASA stew who decided to fly sick instead of call in sick, and during the inital announcements told the passengers (one of which was this DL stew) that she would not be serving anyone and would be sitting in her jumpseat. The DL stew apparently asked her if SHE (the DL STEW) could serve the passengers, to which the ASA stew said "sure." The DL stew eventually turned her in, and the ASA stew was fired. Some DL stews care, some do not. Same goes for your outfit Fins. Try Song, they are usually nicer and more attentive.

Bye Bye--General Lee
