If you look at the performance bonus plan, you will see that the non-union employees get their bonus if ASA meets three factors. The financial goals, Completion Factor, and AO14. We all know they will meet the financial goals, but the company is way behind on the other two. When you read BL's weekly statements, he is only concerned about CF and AO14. He doesn't address all the other performance issues. For example, as of Aug 24th ASA has 24,643 bag claims. That is over 1000 a day for the month of Aug. Let's say it cost $40.00 to hire a cab and deliver the late bag to the pax, that's $40,000.00 per day in lost bags. However, this isn't addressed in his weekly memos.
If we will just do our jobs, per the POH, SP's, and contract, we can sit back and let the system fail. You do not have to try and screw the company. It will happen by itself.
ASA didn't meet the performance goals for July. This is when BL posted his memo about letting the company fall to pieces. I doubt they will meet them in August. If they keep it up, they won't meet them for September, and therefore, they won't get their 3Q performance bonus.
I wish everyone received the bonus, including the three union groups that have been excluded. I feel the outstaions deserve the bonus because they bust their A$$ES to pick up for the slack in ATL. But I will not go out of my way to meet the company goals. I say let the system fail, and keep the big bonuses out of the GO
I'm not suggesting an illegal job action. Simply do what the company has hired you to do, and nothing else. I'm tired of captains handing me the plane and saying "XXXX is broke, but I didn't want to write it up." Or hearing on ops CR2's asking for a huffer and air cart because the APU or Pack is deferred in the middle of the summer. The FAA has mandated that almost everything on these planes be in working order. If they aren't, the company must fix it. You won't be requesting items to be fixed just because you want to. The Fed's require it.
Let's all do our jobs, every aspect of our jobs, and nothing else.
Cheers
