It's bad enough our nonreving fees keep going up while our priority keeps going down, now they want us to pay to park when we non-rev! The latest company memo states that, due to space limitations, we are only permitted in the new lot S for work purposes only, and we may not park there for nonrevenue travel.

I at first thought it was great that we got to save the company 25 bucks a month with the new lot, but it seems it's going to cost us employees now, that much or more if you travel much. I'm thinking about saying no thanks to the move for this reason alone. Is it selfish for me to cost the company extra money so they don't cost me extra money?

Yeah but do you seriously think they're going to enforce it? How?

This is how it's always been dude no one check's it but it's been the same way for all the lots, company business only.

We at DAL cannot park in employee parking for the purposes of non-reving either. They will tow the car. I have seen it.

This is the first I've ever heard of that, and I try to read everything they put out. I'm not saying you're wrong, but then why wasn't it phrased as a reminder? And why did they previously give us guidance on how to go back through security after taking the bus when nonrevving? And how do you spell 'nonrevving'?

Oh, and don't call me dude!

Is the bus service good from the new lot? Debating on whether I should switch or not.

It hasn't started yet. You can start parking there on Monday (assuming you're in the top 1000 seniority numbers and have exchanged your pass), and they're supposed to have 3 busses going at all times. It sounds like the schedule will be comparable to the current lot 3.

-Yeah, right... Just how do they determine that someone is flying for pleasure rather than company business?

-I don't buy that for a second....

I suppose they could cross-reference the list of badges swiped at the parking lot gate with a list of non-revs on any given day. Wouldn't catch everyone, but they only need to tow a few before word gets out that they've "fixed the glitch."

Having to pay to park would get pretty expensive, though.

Let's not give them any ideas! Sometimes it's better to not ask questions that you don't want answered.

So if you nonrev somewhere, and come back on the same day your trip starts, then you have to move your car to a different lot? Yeah right. Or if you bug out somewhere right after a trip? Sounds like an honor system to me, at best.

The Security team at the gate, which is rumored to be the first all Italian Security Team, will check your ID against the daily sign-in sheet on hand.

If you pay to park, do you get to drive the shuttle bus for 250 hours?

Somone said the parking spaces there are very, very tight and that some of the rows converge, making it harder to manuever and park.

If you have a nice car, expect to get door dings.
