I'm just a line pilot Tomct, but I realize that my worth is dependant on the industry around me, and I also am smart enough to realize that I will be worth less if my job is outsourced to Skywest.

Better get that resume ready then. No matter how low we go, this company will still die. If, for some reason, you can't go elsewhere then tough crap. Not my problem. Hey, I single engine taxi and reduce thrust with the best of them. I'll do everything I can to help this place out..... short of taking a concessionary contract. But, you know what, take your concessionary contract. This place will still die. Not because of us, but because of the ineptitude of management. Tell me... as a line pilot (*cough*) how many passenger bags have you lost. Quit trying to subsidize manamement incompetence and grow a pair of balls, you whiny little bitch.

I've talked to lots of ALPA people. MEC reps, CNC members, and P2P. The answers and excuses have changed from time to time and rep. to rep. I remember last year being told that we weren't asking for much money, only QOL issues. That was a lie - we are asking for lots of money. I remember P2P people telling me that a YES vote on the strike was crucial because management would give us what we want if we vote yes. They said it wasn't really a strike vote, it was just a message so we could get what we want. That was a lie too. Lies and more lies, while our jobs go to non-union Skywest. Tell me again why I am paying 2% of my pay to "protect my job". Wake up people, ALPA isn't protecting your job, they are just taking your money.

You are for sure a liar. Blame, blame blame. Grow up.:bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: Worm.

If you hate the union that bad, then it is YOU that need to leave ASA. You knew that ASA was a union carrier when you interviewed here. In fact, you probably knew that we were in contract negotiations when you interviewed. What you don't seem to understand is that this process has happened before at this airline. It happened during the last contract negotiations, almost exactly as it is happening now, with just the names changed.

And as far as Skywest taking our planes...It has already been shown, time after time, by independent sources, that we operate the 70 seater cheaper than almost anyone in the industry, including Skywest. If this was about what the pilots make, then they would not be transferring the 70s away, and they would be transferring ALL the 50s TO us. But they aren't, are they? Why do you think that is?

You THINK that ALPA lies to you, well I KNOW that management lies to us. Right to our faces. I watched them do it for an enite hour during their dog and pony road shows of doom. I watched king tutt do it right to my face about BLs stock bonus. The last thing that I want to do is strike, or have this airline shut down for any other reason. But I am not willing to submit to a sub par contract, or take a paycut of any kind, while this company continues to make money hand over fist, and is giving bonuses to it's upper management.

Has it ever occured to you that all of us that you think hate this place really don't hate it at all? Has it ever occured to you that just maybe we really love ASA, and hate management for running it into the ground? That we just hate the management "teams" that have, for the past 5 years, continued to crap on the people who can actually do something to make a difference around here? No, you don't get it, because you hate ALPA so bad that you are blinded to the realities at this airline.

Boy this ASAdriver is one heck of a wimpy dork. For four years we have been fighting a losing battle, but now we are starting to see movement for the first time from mgnt and you want to throw in the towel..? Tell me, if we make $5 more per hour than Skywest with equal work rules do you believe it is in the best interest of JA to crew ATL with Skywest pilots that would cost more than to let us fly out here? Bottom line they want us to believe that we are regional pilots and not worthy of anything that would make this job a career. Skywest pilots make more than us, however we are in Deltas back yard and control all the marbles here. Do you really believe that Delta would allow Skywest to transfer all of the 700's to Saltlake to teach us a lesson while hurting Delta? Think for a second here, how much would it cost to pay all of these Skywest pilots to move out here, less than to just give us a raise? I don't think so. Grow some balls or leave our airline you POS.

That sums it up for me. I enjoy flying here, and the people, but management is ruining ASA. Sad but true. But I still won't accept a concessionary contract. I'll walk away if that's what it takes. Fly safe.

I'm tired of people like you trying to ruin my job. Allowing our aircraft to go to Skywest will benefit nobody. If you don't like it, please leave!

No, you have it wrong pal. The union is doing what the vast majority of us have told them to do. How do you think we acquired what's in our current agreement now? Do you think G&J willingly gave these pay rates, vacation, 401K matching to us without ALPA fighting for them? If you don't like it, you leave! Management is moving the planes, not ASA/ALPA. Go bitch to them about it. Are you really a line pilot?

We are by far the dominant carrier in ATL, for Skywest to change that would cost millions more than to just give us what we are asking. So yes in ATL we control all the marbles and are doing all we can to keep you lowballing Skywest polygamists from taking them.

1. I'm not Skywest.
2. Skywest will spend millions to to get rid of you.
3. I think you lost your marbles.
4. SKYW Inc. bought your a$$ with Skywest Airlines money. I think Skywest has the marbles.

ASA is gone!

I am with you. I think ASA is only going to be around for a little while longer. There is no benefit to keep ASA.

So why settle?

Everybody has their panties in a wad over this "transfer of assest." Allow me to put a diffrent perspective on this.

Why would SkyWest keep a different part of the holding company, flying for Delta at the same crew base? It doesn't make any fiscal sense to it. How many other holding companies have two separate arms flying for the same customer at the same base? The routes belong to Delta and they will still flown.

I wish it didn't happen but it has. Who's to say, ASA doesn't pick up another base in the Eastern part fo the country? It makes no sense to get rid of ASA when it helps with getting around scope that other airlines have placed on you; ie United, ecspecially when it is profitable.

:cool:Nicely said ATR, if our idiotic mgmnt is not careful, they are going to run this place right into the crapper. Oh, but it will be the pilots fault for not signing a @hitty contract all the while making HUGE PROFITS!
