ASA pilots, check your email.

The ASA MEC voted to endorse the TA.

And the bonus formula is out. See if YOU can figure out the extremely convoluted formula. I have a feeling they don't want us to know how much we're getting individually. Unfortunately, that's going to affect my vote quite a bit.

Also, all road shows are either at the Doubletree hotel or the Strike Center.

How about some road shows at the airport, like they did with LOA 29 (-700 pay)?

uh ok, I gave up the scientific calculator about 20 years ago. If anyone can figure it out post some examples.

nevermind

how does it compare to SkyWest? I haven't looked but I thought it was the same as we get.

ours:

company posts 5% margin for the quarter. multiply your earnings for the quarter by that 5%=your bonus, plus the amounts for the operational goals.

example:

company posts margin of 5%. Say earned 20K this quarter. my bonus would be 20K x 5%= $1000 plus the operational bonus (usually around 200 bucks, give or take)

They mean the "retro pay" bonus.

Do you know what retro pay is Skynation......never mind you have never seen it and SAPA will never get it for you.

I don't think you are meant to figure it out. I guess you could if you tried hard enough, but its not like you can figure your bonus and say, "Hey, you owe me $xxxxx." ALPA national will likely plug you into the formula on their computer and spit out your bonus check.

This is merely showing the pilots the method to the madness. One good thing I think is that the money will be more evenly distributed than I previously thought. While the top seniority guys will get more, it won't be a windfall for them. Looks like the 6-10 year pilots will see almost as much as Doug Helms.

I actually did try to figure mine out and came up with $63,433. :p Guess I'll try again.

Bottom line is "go to a road show". I imagine they will be able to tell you within a couple hundred bucks what you are getting. Trying to calculate it now is kinda fruitless since the actual seniority list snapshot isnt until 11/20/07.

What crap, how hard is it to post something everyone can read. Now people have no idea what there getting and have to ask that at the road show instead of questions about the contract. This should be black and white and not a issue.

Looks like the FO's are gonna get the shaft. I understand the seniority payout, But FO's getting 60% of what captains get on the Contract delay payout! Why are we all not equal in that area?

I was hoping they would come up with a per day dollar amount. You've been here the entire time the contract has been under negotiation - you get the highest payout. For people less than 5 years, a per day dollar amount to determine your payout.

Looks like what I'll be paid is minusclue compared to 100% retro, while a 700 Captain, who has enjoyed higher wages the entire 5 years, and only a 1% raise, will get a lot more than 100% retro!

The company owes me $4.00 per hour for the first year alone, never mind years 2,3, and 4.

This is definitely not 100% retro!
Voting NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree! FOs are getting screwed! No real increase in pay and a couple dollars to sign!

I agree also, go to the road shows and tell them how you feel. Just b/c the MEC endorses it doesn't mean it's going to pass, remember that when you vote.

I am the pilot ALPA left behind...

I agree! Thanks, ALPA, for my $.37 raise! It almost, but not quite, covers my union dues! It's similar to Eagles ANNUAL COLA raise, only its taken 5 years?!?

And if that wasn't enough, apparently the 3 years I have been here during contract negotiations have been worth about 60% of a Captain's time, under the same work rules. It must have been tough for them, getting paid better all the while. It effectively screws the 17 year FO, who has had to endure much more BS than the 5 year captain.

I am very happy for all who got great raises- they are very much deserved, and longevity should definitely be rewarded. But why hang the FOs out to dry? Has ALPA forgotten that ASA needs FOs too? And that our votes count just as much as the Captains? Or, do our votes count 60% as well?

Maybe the Signing bonus distribution wouldn't be such a slap in the face if the work rules were a little better.

E.g.- duty rigs are great. I am happy that i will get min day pay. But, most of my days are already worth more the 3.75. There are those days when I am blocked to 4 hours, scheduled to be off at noon, but because my plane is in maintenance at Delta north, then "on its way to gate," i get off at 8PM. According to the new contract, I will be earning $1.60 an hour, up 10 cents from what I'm making today. Fan-f***ing-tastic.

And why would the union not fight for the little things, like the ability to trade partial trips?

What good will a Reserve's call me first preference be if its selected on a monthly basis? Why not a daily selection? Or better yet, model it after Eagle, where reserves actually get to bid on daily open time, rewarding the senior guys and the junior guys. They have the chance to bid for different reserve availability periods so that a commuter can bid nap reserve the first day, then 4 am reserve the last.

And what good does a commuter policy do if you have to list the airports you commute from. What about a divorced commuter with a home in NY and kids in CA? Or those of us who don't technically commute, but still travel to take advantage of what's left of our travel benefits.

What a waste of time and money! I am voting NO! Encouraging all the Skywest guys to do the same!

hmmmm...........

many of us are listening.

17 year FO gets treated as a captain. If you can hold a captain position, your treated as a Captain.......So tell me again, how does the 17 year FO get screwed?????

Ummm...As far as I can tell that statement is not true at all unless you are on military leave. It is based on your assignment as of Nov 12, 07.

If you want to be treated as a CA then UPGRADE, I feel no remorse for someone that didn't upgrade and now want's to. Grow up or get out of the business if you can't handle the responsibility.
