The biggest problem with the bag issue is that ASA is tied to DAL's system. I thought that most of the DCI's had the same problem because of the inefficient teetering giant...... Of course didn't BL fix the ramp issue years ago? Wasn't that how he made his name?enuffalready said:I see these signs posted all over ops about how we boarded 12,000,000 last year. Well, according to the DOT we lost 18 bags per 1000. And I believe we pay close to $40 Per bag to have them delivered to the door? Granted, I just got in from a nap but isn’t that close to $9,000,000 in 2005? If so, and Brian wants a zero net contract, why doesn’t he start with something that has been going on LONG before I got here 5 years ago?

Anyone got a calculator?

If I have already turned in the paper work, closed the door, pushed and started, sorry, no more bags. They should have been already onboard. Had one of the Delta actally pull in front of me as I taxied out of 28 with both running. As I shook my head when he signaled 8 bags he gave the dual-handed single finger salute, mouthed "motherfcker" to me and continued to block us for almost a minute as he played with his little computer on the tug.
Sorry General, I have to point a finger here, and it is not at us. I agree some is our fault, but not all.

DrProc said:The truth of the matter is, the only people to get screwed with missing bags are the pax. Sure numbers are reported, but does that really hurt the airline, no. Just remember those pax are the reason the airlines are in business, and the reason you have a job.

I thought you went to the Mad Dog's left seat. Maybe I bez confused.
scarlet said:GL is that one of the 767s they are parking--guess he will not be pulling in front of that one anymore...or maybe all the 777s dl was getting years ago,oh but no we have to have 300.00/hr.. Good solution by DL--Not to get anymore.= SMART!!!!
General Lee said:And, we had (have) more widebody 767s than anyone else.
General Lee said:How about the RJs or ATRs not being able to take a full load of bags during bad weather? I talked to a PFN agent and he said the local bag guy makes over $100,000 a year to deliver late bags to pax. Is that Delta's fault? What are you smoking? The chronic, obviously.
Bye Bye--General Lee
Ganja60Heavy said:Gee, thanks for clarifying "widebody 767s"....I would have confused them with other 767's.
Redundancy, General Lee, like the skin folds on the back of your neck.
GO AROUND said:General, our SOP is that we bump passengers before bags. The FAA in it's infinite wisdom(NOT!) is to blame for the weight issues on the RJ. Having to count bags twice when there is only one just because the carry on goes in the back. Local bag delivery? Now that's the ticket! If this career goes down the toilette, I could do that.
General Lee said:Blame the Air Midwest BE1900 crash for that one. Stuff 19 fat pax into a BE1900 with bags and you probably won't come close to the original FAA limits. They had to change it due to our fat way of life. But, that affects RJs too, and that makes them not as reliable and surely not as profitable. IF you buy a plane that states it can take 50 people and bags, and then it can't because reality sets in and we all realize people are fatter, then what good is that 50 seater? Did you know that your CR7 that flies to St Croix from ATL only lists for 40 pax? Out of 70 seats? I hope those are expensive tickets...(I know you need full fuel requirements for diversions over water etc)
Bye Bye--General Lee
