Not a single thread yet on the 66 hour lines (700) at ASA? What is FI coming to? Oh yeah, the first 65 (of 172) lines have 18 days off...

Is it just me or is there no way to SORT commutiable lines... you can filter, but this only shows you lines with with all of the trips meeting you criteria... Flica would put them in order....

Just pisses me off that they have had this system for like 6 months now & they still don't have half the functionallity of FLICA... And they are making a $hit load of mistakes!!! Hence the e-mail today from Karen!!! Any other co. would have fired their IT dept. by now... Think it is all part of the process to get us to take PBS!!!

Livin the Dream... on day at a time

Check your e-mail. One year leaves of absence now accepted.

We'll get furlough notices right after the holidays.

The low lines suck but at least we still get a paycheck unlike so many unfortunate peeps out there.

Finally, one who understands. It might not be so great, but it's certainly much better than many have. Live w/ it, be thankful, and cash your paycheck every 2 weeks!!!

For those that disagree, I'm on my 4th job loss in 5 yrs, and realize that we deserve nada according to management. Sad, but very true!!! Enjoy what you have, because it can be much worse tomorrow.

I hope I'm wrong, but I believe a few may be on the street after January. I would assume whatever that number may be, look for half as many downgrades back to the right seat. Hopefully it won't last long with these oil prices.

Do what I do: Maximize time off, drop a trip, get an office job for your days off, surf FI all morning.

Does Brad have an equivalent to a Waylon Smithers? I think I can do that job. Wipe some ass, trim some mustache, and tuck him in every night.

Sounds like they need to furlough.

Sounds like management is trying to do everything they can not to. I appreciate it and the several hundred people below me appreciate it. Certainly hope no one is out on the street. I'm happy to fly a min guarantee line for a few months while the company gets through this disaster of an economy.

You think this is a disaster, just wait 'til Oblama jacks up taxes!!!

It's going to be more than a "few months".

crj567,

Don't worry Obama is going to cut our taxes, he said so.

What on god's green earth are you talking about??

I have reference to that marxist freakshow we just elected.... I was just using the phonetic spelling-as pronounced by damn near everyone I have heard say they voted for him.

It makes me cringe to say this, but I think that you are probably right.

My (worthless) predictions:

The broader economy will start to show marked signs of improvement in Q3/Q4 of '09. However, there always seems to be a lag between positive economic indicators and a series of positive events happening in the airline industry.

The best shot I have at a silver lining is that I expect that the economy will be vastly improved and the airline industry on the upswing in time for our next contract negotiations.

One thing to consider, completely independent on how you voted this year:

Raising taxes has NEVER improved economic conditions, by any quantifiable measure, in the United States of America.

Our government is dysfunctional and we are screwing with the future of our children at this point.

One more thing to consider as an airline pilot, whether you identify with ALPA or not: The precedent for a beat-down of the airline pilot career as has never before been witnessed is being set right now. Right Now.

The UAW is (fairly or not) being completely marginalized as we speak. With the next down-turn of the airline industry, there will loud calls for the airline pilots to go the way of the UAW, read: massive concessions, to save the airline. Just watch.

Scary times.
