Speedtape - the RJDC has nothing to do with this. John is an RJDC supporter, like I am, and like several current members of the ASA MEC are. Many people realize that ALPA needs reform (not destruction) R E F O R M. You could just as easily tie in the Christian faith, fondness for Jimmy Buffet music or operation of Ford brand trucks for a common denominator.
You can argue politics, but I would appreciate it if you left the RJDC out of this. The RJDC does not get involved in local politics, the RJDC has big enough fish to fry without the distraction of issues which do not matter in our quest for representation.
As has been written earlier, regardless who our status Reps are I trust they will represent the pilots to the best of their ability using Wilson polling and the other resources available to them.
I think some fresh perspectives might be beneficial, but given the critical juncture we find ourselves in I think experience may be a more important characteristic now. I'm an ardent RJDC supporter, but conflicted about who to vote for, if that tells you anything about the complete lack of involvement the RJDC has in this election.
Sorry, Pal! Your efforts are costing me and the other ALPA pilots dues money by having to defend your lawsuit! Would you agree or disagree? You are in my pocketbook now! YOU, may have good intentions, but your friends do not! I will make it my business, because it is my Union and my money!
Did the RJDC not make a run at taking over the Comair MEC? I am not misinformed on this one! John Breiling, as is his friend, is involved with the RJDC and he is part of the newest Coalition! What do you think his intentions might be? I don't want to chance it when we have a process and good people that have proven track records sacrificing their time and energy to advance the pay and benefits of our pilots. The current MEC has not failed this pilot group, the pilot group has failed the current MEC! We ask them to carry our water, and then cut and run because collectively, we do not have the fortitude to support them or give them the leverage they need.
I have followed your posts over time! I feel that you are rational and make good arguments. I also feel that when it comes to this election, you are struggling to make the right decision, not for me, but for you! I respect your character and intelligence. You may not be involved with John or his agenda, but you cannot separate his position, interests, and agenda from what he is attempting to do. Most have no respect for him because of his actions, not his opinions or beliefs. You should well know what I am talking about because some, in your organization, have tried to distance yourselves from him.
RJDC is politics and can not be left out of the discussion! It cannot be separated or isolated from what the Jackson 5 are trying to do. Unfortunately for you, maybe "your" RJDC, like your ASA ALPA "Union," is being hijacked too! Your choice of who to vote for should be easy if you hold to your principles!
